BTO - This morning (October 23) at the National Assembly House, Hanoi, under the chairmanship of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly officially opened. The National Assembly Chairman and Vice Chairmen will take turns presiding over the sessions.
Attending the meeting on the side of Binh Thuan delegation were comrade Duong Van An - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and provincial National Assembly deputies.
Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that based on the session agenda approved at the preparatory session, within 22 days (phase 1 from October 23 to November 10; phase 2 from November 20 to November 28), the 15th National Assembly will consider and decide on important contents. First, on socio-economics, state budget and decide on important issues of the country. The National Assembly will consider the Government's reports on the assessment of the implementation results of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in 2023 and consider and decide on the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimate, and central budget allocation plan in 2024; At the same time, review mid-term assessment reports on the implementation results of the 5-year plans for the 2021-2025 period on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and borrowing and public debt repayment.
Second, regarding legislative work, the National Assembly Chairman said that the National Assembly will consider and pass 9 draft laws and consider and give opinions on 8 other draft laws. For the draft laws that the National Assembly gives opinions on for the first time, he requested that National Assembly deputies uphold their sense of responsibility, promote democracy, focus their intelligence, spend time researching and discussing thoroughly, and contribute many profound opinions right from the beginning so that agencies have time to revise and ensure the highest quality when considering and approving them at the next session.
Third, on supreme supervision activities. At this session, the National Assembly will listen to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front report summarizing opinions and recommendations of voters and people sent to the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly; consider reports on corruption prevention and control, crime prevention and control, and law enforcement in 2023... At the same time, for the first time since the beginning of the term, the National Assembly will discuss in the Hall the results of citizen reception, handling of petitions, and resolving complaints and denunciations of citizens in 2023.
The questioning and answering of questions at this session will be held for 2.5 days, focusing on implementing the promises, commitments and requests of the National Assembly to the Prime Minister, members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and State Auditor General in implementing thematic supervision resolutions and resolutions on questioning and answering of questions, following the motto of attaching importance to supervising issues after supervision...
Emphasizing the huge workload of the 6th Session, the National Assembly Chairman asked National Assembly deputies to continue to promote and more effectively perform the role and responsibility of people's representatives; promote the spirit of democracy for each content of the session.
