Ky Duyen entered the top 3 national costume performances at Miss Universe 2024

(Dan Tri) - According to the official announcement from the Miss Universe Organizing Committee, the national costume "Ngoc Diep Ky Nam" performed by Ky Duyen is in the top 3 most beautiful national costumes of this year's contest.
Nearly half a month after the Miss Universe 2024 final, the results of the National Costume Show were announced. Accordingly, the top 3 of this competition belonged to representatives from Vietnam, Chile, and the Philippines (in order from lowest to highest).

This is a small achievement of Vietnam's representative, Ky Duyen, at the Miss Universe 2024 contest. Thus, in this year's season, Vietnam won 2 achievements including: Top 30 overall and Top 3 in the National Costume Performance competition. The Ngoc Diep Ky Nam costume was inspired by the 20th century butterfly parasol. The costume includes a Nhat Binh shirt with embroidered butterfly wing motifs and studded with stones. The highlight is the hand-held parasol, which when opened will simulate the image of "cocoon turning into a butterfly", creating surprise for the viewer. The author said that this detail is meant to talk about Ky Duyen's changes after 10 years working in the entertainment industry. The costume uses the main colors of pink, purple and blue, exuding a traditional spirit mixed with modernity. The crew took 10 days to complete the work, mostly by hand.

The work aims to honor the ingenuity of ancient artisans. Butterfly parasols are handicrafts in traditional craft villages in the 20th century, used as toys, wall decorations in noble families, and symbolize longevity. In the National Costume Performance, Ky Duyen performed quite well and naturally. The National Costume Performance is one of the attractive competitions of the Miss Universe contest, demonstrating the creativity of designers when conveying meaningful cultural content into costumes. The Miss Universe 2024 contest took place in Mexico from the end of October and ended on November 17 (Vietnam time). This year's season had an impressive number of participants, up to nearly 130 people. The Danish beauty - Victoria Kjær Theilvig - was crowned Miss Universe 2024. This victory is considered worthy. However, after the competition, many scandals related to this year's season were revealed, disappointing fans.
