Kien Xuong: Handling over 850 cases of traffic safety violations

Since the beginning of the year, the Traffic Police Team (Kien Xuong District Police) has coordinated with the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) to strengthen patrols, control, and strictly handle violations of traffic safety and order; and implement many measures to ensure traffic safety on routes and areas under their management.

Accordingly, during the patrol and control process, the Team discovered and recorded 857 violations; temporarily detained 463 vehicles; revoked 335 driving licenses; and imposed administrative fines of over VND2.8 billion. Of which, 170 cases were fined for not wearing helmets; 314 cases of alcohol concentration violations...; especially, 3 cases of using fake driving licenses were detected and handled.

At the same time, the functional forces advised local Party committees and authorities to direct departments, branches and organizations to strengthen propaganda and mobilize cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, association members, union members and people to strictly comply with traffic laws and actively participate in ensuring traffic order and safety in the area.

Thanks to good patrolling, handling of violations as well as propaganda of traffic safety laws, traffic order and safety in the district have been well maintained, traffic accidents have decreased in two criteria: number of cases and number of deaths. In the first 6 months of the year, there were 13 traffic accidents in Kien Xuong district, killing 7 people and injuring 4 people. Compared to the same period in 2022, there was a decrease of 1 case, a decrease of 4 deaths, an increase of 2 injuries; there were no particularly serious traffic accidents causing great damage to people and property.
