On the morning of August 3, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa held a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year, deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year; award the 16th Excellent Teacher title and award students who won international prizes in 2024.

In the 2023-2024 school year, implementing the theme "Solidarity, discipline, creativity, continuing to innovate, improving the quality of education and training" and promoting the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning", Thanh Hoa education sector has overcome difficulties, successfully completed key tasks and solutions with many outstanding results.

During the school year, school facilities and classrooms continued to receive attention for construction and planning. Up to now, the whole province has had 1,690/1,981 schools meeting national standards, reaching a rate of 85.31%. The team of managers and teachers has been constantly improving their professional qualifications and skills. Through review and statistics, out of a total of 51,788 teachers (including managers, public and non-public teachers), 50,162 people have qualifications that meet the standards or higher, accounting for 96.86%; 16,981 people have qualifications above the standards, accounting for 32.79%.

Reporting at the conference, Director of the Department of Education and Training Tran Van Thuc said that the brightest spot in the educational "picture" of Thanh Hoa last year was the quality of education, which achieved important and outstanding results, contributing to spreading and inspiring competition for many teachers and students. For the first time, Thanh Hoa province had a student, Le Xuan Manh (Ham Rong High School, Thanh Hoa City), win the championship of the Road to Olympia program in 2023.

At the national competition for excellent students, Thanh Hoa delegation achieved outstanding results with the highest winning rate in the country (84/90 students participating in the competition won prizes) and the number of first prizes ranked fourth in the country. This is also the year Thanh Hoa has 4 candidates selected to participate in the International Olympiad in Informatics and Physics. As a result, 1 candidate won a silver medal, 2 candidates won a bronze medal at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad and 1 candidate won a silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad; 1 candidate won a bronze medal at the 2024 Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad.

In addition, the overall quality of education has many positive changes. In the 2024 high school graduation exam, the whole province had 914 students scoring 10 points, ranking first in the country. Of which, 2 candidates were ranked as the top students nationwide in groups C00 and A08. Notably, the average score of the high school graduation exam subjects in 2024 of Thanh Hoa rose to 18th in the country, up 3 places compared to 2023 and up 26 places compared to 2020...

Discussing at the conference, delegates focused on analyzing and clarifying many issues related to improving the quality of education at all levels; the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program... At the same time, they agreed on key tasks to be implemented in the 2024-2025 school year such as: Continuing to perfect institutions, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education; focusing on improving the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education; paying attention to developing the team of teachers and managers of educational institutions to ensure sufficient quantity and improve quality, meeting the requirements of education and training innovation...

At the same time, he requested the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the core of which is the education sector, to focus on implementing key tasks such as: Reviewing, arranging and reorganizing the scale of schools and classes to ensure that they are reasonable and suitable to existing conditions; continuing to invest in facilities at main schools to expand the scale, gradually reducing the number of satellite schools to meet the requirements of educational innovation.

Focus on implementing solutions to build a team of teachers and managers with sufficient quantity, consistent structure, ensuring quality, meeting the requirements of educational innovation and ensuring good implementation of the General Education Program for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

Organize seriously, objectively, and qualitatively the assessment work during the teaching and learning process, especially the exams in the 2024-2025 school year. Develop and submit to competent authorities for approval the plan and scheme for organizing the entrance exam for grade 10 of high school in the 2025-2026 school year and the high school graduation exam in 2025 according to the 2018 General Education Program to ensure compliance with regulations.
