On the morning of September 13, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities announced on its fanpage that it would not hold an opening ceremony to use all funds to support people in the North.
The school said it had made careful preparations for the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year on September 27. However, in recent days, storms and floods have caused serious damage in the northern region. Associate Professor - Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that the budget for organizing the opening ceremony is 100 million VND. The entire amount will be transferred by the school to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people in the northern provinces, helping to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
The announcement said that the opening ceremony is a very important occasion, especially for new students. However, the school hopes that all students can sympathize and show the spirit of mutual love at this time.
