Foreign investors net sold for the 10th consecutive session with a value of 1,500 billion VND.

The market opened with a slight increase and quickly reversed to a decrease after nearly 1 hour of trading. The market breadth was tilted towards the selling side, partly reflecting the uncertainty of investors still present.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery group decreased the most in the market with 2.14%. Of which, HAG decreased by 4.78%, CTP decreased by 3.64%, HSL decreased by 1.67% and VIF decreased by 1.82%. Meanwhile, the seafood processing industry recovered positively, for example, VHC increased by 1.3%, ANV increased by 1.04%, CMX increased by 6.25%.

At the end of the morning session on June 19, VN-Index decreased by 7.59 points, equivalent to 0.59% to 1,271.91 points. The entire floor had 109 stocks increasing and 311 stocks decreasing.

Entering the afternoon session, demand gradually appeared, helping the market recover. At one point, the VN-Index reached 1,283 points before narrowing its increase towards the end of the session.

At the end of the trading session on June 18, VN-Index increased by 0.29 points, equivalent to 0.02% to 1,279.79 points. The entire floor had 184 stocks increasing, 246 stocks decreasing, and 71 stocks remaining unchanged.

HNX-Index decreased 0.86 points to 243.57 points. The entire floor had 86 stocks increasing, 94 stocks decreasing and 65 stocks remaining unchanged. UPCoM-Index increased 0.05 points to 98.36 points.

HVN led the market's momentum when it hit the ceiling price of VND34,750 per share, contributing 1.24 points to the market. This positive increase came after Vietnam Airlines announced that it would hold its 2024 annual general meeting of shareholders on June 21. Meanwhile, Vietjet Airlines' rival VJC continued to decline by 1.24% to VND103,300 per share.

The positivity also spread throughout the technology group, for example, the giant FPT increased by 2.73% to 131,500 VND/share and contributed 1.1 points to the market. The two giants ELC and CMG also increased by over 2%, closing at 28,400 VND/share and 69,900 VND/share, respectively. The whole group had 5 codes that increased to the ceiling price: ICT, MFS, CMT, HIG, VTE.

The banking group witnessed differentiation, on the positive side, VPB, CTG, STB, SSB contributed more than 1.3 points to the market. On the contrary, VCB, BID, TCB codes took away more than 1.7 points from the general market, in which VCB led the momentum.

Foreign trading developments.

The total order matching value in today's session was VND28,864 billion, up 13% compared to yesterday, of which the order matching value on the HoSE floor reached VND25,971 billion. In the VN30 group, liquidity reached VND11,107 billion.
