Mr. Le Van Canh - General Director of IDI Company - representative of the investor - said that the US Seafood Processing Factory has a total investment capital of nearly 700 billion VND, an area of 24 hectares, a processing capacity of 120 tons of raw materials/day, and an estimated output of pangasius fillets of about 20,000 tons/year.
“The project is built in Sao Mai - Vam Cong Industrial Park, the factory is equipped with production equipment lines completely imported from Europe, has an automatic material loading process, and a modern freezing system.
The construction time is expected to be 12-14 months. Once completed, the US Seafood Processing Plant will contribute to increasing IDI's total processing capacity to over 500 tons of raw materials per day," said Mr. Canh.
Ms. Truong Thi Diep - acting chairwoman of Lap Vo district People's Committee - said that IDI Company is one of 28 enterprises that make major contributions to the tra fish production chain of Dong Thap province.
In 2024, the US and South American markets are increasing in attraction, IDI Company is 1 of 6 Vietnamese seafood enterprises enjoying low anti-dumping tax rates announced by the US Department of Commerce.
“The advantage of the seafood export market to the US is opening up for businesses thanks to preferential tax policies. Especially in the context of the Vietnamese seafood export market continuously receiving very optimistic information from the US, China, the Middle East and ASEAN.
The US seafood processing plant investing in a modern closed production line will be a pioneer in transforming Vietnamese pangasius production towards sustainable development under the “Green Journey – Green Value” initiative launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,” said Ms. Diep.
