Government leaders will issue the groundbreaking order for Long Thanh airport terminal and T3 terminal in Tan Son Nhat with a total investment of more than VND45,000 billion on the afternoon of August 31.

Of which, the investment cost of Long Thanh airport terminal is 35,000 billion VND. The project is built on a 150-hectare land area, designed with two separate departure and arrival lanes, including a ground floor and 3 floors, a roof height of nearly 46 m, and 40 aircraft parking positions. The terminal is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.
The 35,000 billion VND terminal is designed with the image of a lotus flower used throughout the items such as: roof, main view, interior of the check-in area... The architectural highlight is the skylight and the central atrium of the terminal - where the artificial waterfall and garden landscape are arranged.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (investor - ACV), the project is designed and constructed using the most modern technology in the aviation field with materials of high durability and aesthetics.

Along with the terminal, the runway project is 4,000 m long, 45 m wide with a system of 2 parallel taxiways; 6 quick exit taxiways with connecting taxiways... and a number of other auxiliary works were also started on this occasion with a total cost of more than 10,000 billion VND.
The unit implementing the Long Thanh airport terminal is the Vietur Joint Venture, consisting of 10 members, including a number of domestic contractors such as: Ricons, Newtecons, Sol E&C, Vinaconex, CC1, with the leading unit being the Ic Istas Construction Industry and Trade Group (Ic Istas) of Türkiye.
The Turkish contractor introduced that it had built Pulkovo airport in Russia, Varna Burgas in Bulgaria, and the rest were airports in its home country Türkiye. On the domestic side, Vinaconex had won many bids in the airport sector. ATAD also has experience in constructing steel structures for many domestic airports.

Long Thanh Airport has a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year. The total investment capital of the project is about 336,630 billion VND (about 16 billion USD). Of which, the first phase invests 114,450 billion VND (equivalent to 5.45 billion USD).
At the same time, Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3, including the following items: passenger terminal, multi-storey car park combined with non-aviation services and the front overpass system, was also started. The project has a total investment of VND 10,990 billion, expected to be constructed in 20 months, and put into operation from the second quarter of 2025.
The passenger terminal alone consists of one basement and four upper floors, with a total floor area of 112,500 m2. The terminal has 90 check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop-off counters, 42 check-in kiosks, 27 boarding gates (13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.
