The ceremony was attended by 500 outstanding students of the 2023-2024 school year and students in especially difficult circumstances.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Lao Cai education continues to maintain and achieve proud achievements: the quality and effectiveness of education continues to have many synchronous, comprehensive, and clear changes in both lowland and highland areas. The work of discovering and nurturing excellent and gifted students is focused on; there are many creative and effective solutions in organization and implementation.
The number and percentage of students with good conduct, fair and excellent academic performance; students winning prizes in competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects, scientific and technical research competitions, and competitions in arts and sports at all levels continue to achieve good results, becoming a bright spot in education in mountainous areas nationwide.
Specifically: the provincial-level junior high school excellent student exam had 805 students participating, recognizing 479 students as winners; the provincial-level high school excellent student exam had 1,660 students participating, recognizing 952 students and 36 students as winners; the 2024 national excellent student exam had 63/99 students winning prizes (3 first prizes, 13 second prizes, 21 third prizes and 26 consolation prizes); the 2024 national scientific research competition had 1 second prize and 1 third prize.
On international playgrounds, many students have won gold, silver and bronze medals (typically the Specialized High School and High School No. 1 of Lao Cai City).
In other intellectual playgrounds, such as: The Road to Olympia competition, Dang Duy Khanh, a student of grade 11 Math - IT, High School for the Gifted, excelled in the quarter round; at the Asian Youth Chess Championship, Pham Nhu Y, a student of class 4A3, Nam Cuong Primary School, Lao Cai city won the Gold Medal in the rapid chess category; at the National Vietnamese Champion Competition, Tran Nhu Y, a student of class 4A2, Hoang Van Thu Primary School, Lao Cai city won the Champion title...
In particular, many students in mountainous areas, especially disadvantaged villages and communes of the province have won high prizes in competitions for excellent students and science and technology competitions; many students are poor and have especially difficult circumstances but have made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieve high achievements in studying, performing arts and sports.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and congratulated the outstanding students. At the same time, he acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the education and training sector in innovation in direction, management and teaching with the goal of being practical and comprehensive, continuing to gradually improve the quality of education in the province.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that students will continue to make more efforts, constantly be creative, overcome difficulties, and live with ideals to become people with good health, courage, will, intelligence, and skills to adapt to the social environment and working environment in the new development period of the country.
At the ceremony, 370 students received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman; 37 students received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for their high achievements in the excellent student exam for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded 48 students with achievements in the national excellent student and science and technology competitions; 30 students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to achieve high achievements in the 2023-2024 school year.
- Launching the Month of Action for Children in Lao Cai Province in 2024
At the ceremony, comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee launched the Month of Action for Children in Lao Cai province in 2024, with the theme "Practical actions, prioritizing resources for children", taking place from June 1 to June 30, 2024.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors, agencies and units to coordinate and well organize the activities in the Month of Action for Children 2024 to ensure practicality, effectiveness and focus on the grassroots level; effectively carry out propaganda work; mobilize people to actively support and participate in the education cause. Improve the quality of education, health care, clean water and environmental sanitation services; prevent the impact of natural disasters and epidemics on children. Well implement protection policies for children in special circumstances, children affected by natural disasters and epidemics.
Focus on political education, ideology, ethics, traditions, motivation to study, and civic responsibility among students. Organize safe and healthy cultural, sports, recreational, and entertainment activities for children, such as: organizing children's forums at all levels with rich and diverse topics to attract children to participate and express their opinions; organizing life skills classes, self-protection skills, and participation skills; organizing classes to develop talents, teach swimming, and learn to swim to prevent drowning for children...; promote activities to encourage learning and talent, movements to build studious families, studious clans, and studious communities...
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Sponsoring Council, the Mobilization Committee of the Lao Cai Provincial Children's Fund, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on agencies, units, organizations, businesses, philanthropists inside and outside the province, and international organizations to continue to care for and support children through the Lao Cai Provincial Children's Fund to contribute to supporting and reducing the difficulties of children in special circumstances in the area.
At the ceremony, 10 businesses supported the Provincial Children's Support Fund with a total amount of 159.1 million VND (photo above).
