Inauguration of Trinh Cong Son statue next to Huong river

On the afternoon of February 28, the People's Committee of Hue City held an inauguration ceremony for the art statue of musician Trinh Cong Son at the park named after him next to the poetic Huong River.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by relatives, friends and hundreds of Hue people who love the lyrical music of the talented late musician Trinh.

The portrait statue of musician Trinh Cong Son is placed right in the center of the park named after him.

The statue is made of bronze, 1.7m high, 2.3m long, 1.6m wide and is the work of the late sculptor Truong Dinh Que.

The statue depicts the musician Trinh sitting with his back against a tree, legs crossed, chin resting on hand, face down as if looking at a sheet of music.

Next to it is the guitar that made the late musician famous with timeless love songs such as Diem Xua, Tinh Nho, Mua Hong...

Mr. Le Hung Manh, representative of the unit that donated the statue to Hue City, said that he was very happy to present the statue of musician Trinh Cong Son, made by sculptor Truong Dinh Que, to Hue City.

For Mr. Manh, this work is like a tribute to the late musician who created a very unique genre of music in Vietnamese music - Trinh's music.

"I also believe that today, when the statue of Trinh Cong Son is erected in the park named after him, on his birthday, it is the joy of millions of people across the country when they remember him.

And surely our talented musician is satisfied, sculptor Truong Dinh Que is also satisfied because during their lifetime, the two had a harmonious friendship in artistic creation," said Mr. Manh.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, said that Hue City will continue to renovate and plant more flowers in Trinh Cong Son Park so that this place becomes a place for people to come to commemorate and sing Trinh's music in the heart of Hue City.

Also during the inauguration program of the statue of musician Trinh Cong Son, the People's Committee of Hue City and the musician's family also organized a performance of Trinh's music with many famous singers and a photo exhibition about the musician's life.

Son of sculptor Truong Dinh Que: This is a work of friendship

Standing in a corner of the inauguration ceremony of the statue of musician Trinh Cong Son, Mr. Truong Lam (son of the late sculptor Truong Dinh Que) said he felt very proud and happy that his father's work was treasured in the hometown of the talented musician.

Mr. Lam said that this work was composed by his father in the last years of his life.

At this time, the sculptor's hands were no longer steady, his eyes were no longer clear, but Truong Dinh Que still created a portrait of his friend with the close friendship and affection between the two.

"Looking at the lines of the statue, I see my father there. I am proud and moved that the work symbolizing the close friendship between my father and musician Trinh is treasured and placed solemnly by the Huong River today," said Mr. Lam.
