In 2023, during the 4-day holiday on September 2, Khanh Hoa tourism industry welcomed nearly 152,000 overnight visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching 662 billion VND. This year, the indicators are forecast to grow thanks to a series of tourism stimulus solutions implemented by the authorities since the beginning of the year.

Expectations for the southern domestic and international tourist market

Up to now, many hotels and accommodation facilities in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa still have vacant rooms, although room rates are considered stable compared to normal days. According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa Hotel Association (under the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association), 3-5 star hotels in Nha Trang City have a room booking rate of 60%; in Bai Dai - Cam Lam area, it is about 80%, many large hotels have a room booking rate of up to 90%, mainly for 3-day, 2-night room packages, focusing on August 30 - September 1.

“We are expecting the number of individual guests to increase room capacity in the coming days,” said Mr. Vo Quang Hoang, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Hotel Association, adding that the airfare from Hanoi and northern provinces to Nha Trang City during the September 2 holiday increased by about 20% compared to normal days, which is also the reason why this number of guests is “preventing” them from coming to the locality, and they are shifting to nearby tourist destinations.

However, the opening of the Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang expressway has shortened the travel time to 4-5 hours, nearly half of the previous time, making it easier for Nha Trang to welcome visitors from the southern provinces. In addition to the domestic tourist market, the number of international visitors to Khanh Hoa is very good, especially from Korea and China.

Recently, the railway industry has also put into operation a new train (SNT6) running on the Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang route, while increasing the number of passenger trains on the Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang routes (trains SNT4, SNT5, SNT7, SNT8 and SNT12), the Nha Trang - Da Nang route (trains SE41, SE42), as well as applying policies to reduce ticket prices for passengers, meeting the travel and tourism needs of people, especially during the upcoming September 2nd holiday peak.

Khanh Hoa Province Department of Transport also said that it has requested road transport businesses to absolutely not use vehicles that do not ensure technical safety on the road; thoroughly educate drivers and service staff on vehicles to have a civilized and polite service attitude and spirit, and not to carry more people than the prescribed number.../.
