TPO – Khanh Hoa has approved the planning of Dien Khanh district to become a multi-industry economic center, with a complementary role, closely linked to Nha Trang city and supporting the development of the western mountainous region of the province.

On June 30, the leader of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Office said: Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan has just signed a decision approving the project to adjust the general urban planning of Dien Khanh until 2040.

Specifically, Dien Khanh urban area is planned to be a multi-sector economic center, with a complementary and mutually supportive development role, closely linked to Nha Trang City and supporting the development of the western mountainous area of ​​Khanh Hoa province. The urban area will develop according to a mixed model, concentrated development, the core is the current Dien Khanh town with the cultural center being the Citadel area spreading to the surrounding area.

Dien Khanh urban area includes main economic activities such as: tourism associated with cultural, historical, ecological and agricultural values; clean agriculture, farm economy; commercial services, industrial production, performing the role of an ecological and traditional cultural urban area in the province. The forecasted population of the entire urban area by 2040 is about 250,000 people, the total urban construction land is more than 11,975 hectares (average about 479 m2/person).

According to the development orientation of urban zones, Dien Khanh urban area is divided into 7 zones. Of which, zone 1 (Northeast area, area of ​​about 2,068 ha, estimated population of about 41,500 people) is the space for urban development and industrial production. This is the area for urban population development through the exploitation of interspersed land funds to develop residential units and groups of houses along the connecting axes from National Highway 1 and the Cai River.

Zone 2 (Southeast area, area of ​​about 2,825.8 ha, estimated population of about 52,600 people) is the urban development space, commercial services along Vo Nguyen Giap route, adding mixed commercial service spaces, promoting development and connection with Nha Trang city. Zone 3 (administrative center area, area of ​​about 2,559.1 ha, estimated population of about 64,900 people) is the administrative and political center of the district. This is also the center of commercial services, tourism associated with the cultural - historical values; typical human ecology of Dien Khanh.

Zone 4 (regional transit hub area, area of ​​about 2,835.9 ha, estimated population of about 50,200 people) is a space for developing commercial services associated with important traffic routes of the province. Promote mixed development of trade - services, urban areas at the hub location of the high-speed railway station and the intersection of the high-speed railway on the North - South axis with National Highway 27C.

Zone 5 (the area north of Cai River, area of ​​about 11,451.5 hectares, estimated population of about 8,900 people) is a space for developing tourism services associated with cultural - historical values, agricultural ecology. At the same time, developing clean agriculture, farm economy promotes the development of rural residential areas, creating craft villages in the suburbs of Dien Khanh. In particular, Am Chua national relic is oriented as the main driving force for developing trade services - tourism for the entire urban area.

Zone 6 (industrial and ecological agricultural area, area of ​​about 4,363.3 hectares, estimated population of about 19,600 people) is a space for rural development and tourism associated with industry, ecological agriculture; clean agriculture and farm economy; supporting and promoting the development of the Western region.

Finally, Zone 7 (industrial production and service area, area of ​​about 8,276.6 hectares, estimated population of about 12,300 people) is a space for commercial tourism development based on upgrading infrastructure, adding new residential areas; supporting the development of the Western region. Upgrading and expanding Dien Tho industrial cluster aims to attract high-tech industries.
