According to the approved planning project, the goal by 2030 is for Dong Nai to become a civilized, modern, highly developed province, surpassing the high income threshold in the top group of the country.

Average GRDP per capita by 2030 will reach about 14,650 USD. Population size will reach about 4 - 4.2 million people.

By 2050, Dong Nai strives to become a centrally-run city, a pioneer in developing high-tech industry, with a synchronous, smart, and modern infrastructure system; focusing on green economy and circular economy and achieving the goal of zero net emissions...

The planning also requires Long Thanh airport and Dong Nai river to be used as new driving forces for breakthrough development. Attracting investment selectively, with focus and key points...

At the same time, pay attention to promoting human factors, attracting talents, experts and scientists to live and work in Dong Nai.

Road and rail links with provinces and cities

In the approved planning project, the Government agreed to let Dong Nai take aviation industry, high technology, specialized industry and high-quality services, innovation, and deeper participation in regional and global value chains as the main directions.

In which, infrastructure development in Dong Nai is built on the basis of developing 6 corridors and 3 belts.

Specifically: Dong Nai River corridor; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway corridor and National Highway 51; Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Phan Thiet expressway corridor; National Highway 1 corridor and North - South railway; National Highway 20 corridor and Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway; Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway corridor. Taking advantage of 3 belts including: Ho Chi Minh City belt 4; National Highway 56 belt - Provincial Road 762; Dong Nai - Ba Ria Vung Tau connecting belt.

Add more railway lines

Also according to the approved planning project, before 2030, Dong Nai will connect the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien urban railway line to Trang Bom district. After 2030, build urban railway lines such as the new administrative center urban railway line - Bien Hoa airport; Bien Hoa - Nhon Trach - Long Thanh urban railway line; Bien Hoa - Trang Bom - Long Khanh urban railway line; Long Khanh - Cam My - Long Thanh urban railway line; Bien Hoa airport - Dong Nai river urban railway line (connecting to Binh Duong province).

Regarding regional railway connections, Dong Nai will follow the railway network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Specifically, upgrading the North - South railway; investing in building new Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang routes; Thu Thiem - Long Thanh airport light railway. At the same time, research and invest in a new railway connecting from Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway to Phuoc An port.
