Urgently implement the Housing Support Program for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives

On the morning of March 21, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with departments, branches and localities on the implementation of the Housing Support Program for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs in the province. The conference was chaired by Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the report of the Department of Construction, the whole province currently has 2,583 households of people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs eligible to receive support according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2024 of the Prime Minister. Of these, 724 households will have their houses newly built, 1,859 households will be renovated and repaired. The program is expected to be completed in 2025.

In addition to the support from the central budget, the Provincial People's Committee has also submitted to the Provincial People's Council for consideration to supplement the support level from the local budget, including 20 million VND/household for new construction, 10 million VND/household for repair and renovation. The total support cost from the provincial budget is expected to be 33.07 billion VND, of which 14.48 billion VND is for new construction households, 18.59 billion VND is for repair and renovation households.

Currently, the implementation of the Program is facing some difficulties, notably the unallocated capital, some cases of meritorious people passing away after the list was approved, or some households requesting to switch from new construction to renovation and vice versa.

Faced with the above difficulties, delegates attending the meeting discussed and proposed solutions to ensure progress on schedule.

In his concluding remarks, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan emphasized: "Housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives is a policy of profound humanitarian significance. Therefore, units and localities need to focus highly, implement promptly, and ensure the right beneficiaries."

• Localities review the approved list to ensure correct subjects and eligibility.

• The Department of Construction coordinates with the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Construction on the implementation status.

• The Department of Finance provides detailed instructions on budget preparation, allocation, payment, and settlement of capital sources for transparent and effective implementation.

• People's Committees of districts, towns and cities urgently implement the Program and have timely support plans for households.

• Media agencies should promote the Program, especially in localities that do well, to create momentum for dissemination.

Along with that, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations were also called upon to join hands to support the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

This housing support program not only helps improve living conditions for policy families but also shows deep gratitude to those who have devoted themselves to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The provincial government and people are determined to effectively implement the Program, ensuring its completion in 2025.
