Stamp set 70 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
On May 5, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Dien Bien province and Vietnam Post Corporation to organize a special issuance of the stamp set "Commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (1954-2024)" in Dien Bien province.
With a graphic design style, concise and innovative content, without repeating the images shown on the issued stamp sets, the 4 stamp designs are arranged continuously to create a story with images, the consistent context is the Dien Bien basin from the glorious past to the bright and developing future of Dien Bien province in particular and the country in general.
Model 1: “PLAY ONLY IF YOU KNOW YOU WILL WIN”

On December 6, 1953, the Politburo held a meeting chaired by President Ho Chi Minh to listen to the General Military Commission's report and final approval of the 1953-1954 Winter-Spring campaign plan, and at the same time decided to launch the Dien Bien Phu Campaign with the determination to destroy the French stronghold. Thanks to the correct command, changing the motto "Fight fast, win fast" to "Fight steady, advance steady", and the consensus of the army and people, we won.
The main image on the stamp is of troops pulling artillery into battle. The background image of the Command Headquarters at Muong Phang is arranged on the left to illustrate the stamp (this is the first time this image is mentioned and shown on a postage stamp).
Next to that is the image of enemy planes landing troops in Dien Bien Phu to create the strongest stronghold at that time to dominate the Indochina battlefield, which is why the peaceful scene becomes gloomy.
Model 2: "THE WHOLE COUNTRY GOES TO BATTLE"
To mobilize all resources, human and material resources, all for the frontline, for the cause of fighting against foreign invaders, each group of frontline laborers, people nationwide, together with the ethnic groups of Dien Bien and the Northwest created the combined strength of the great national unity bloc, contributing significantly to the Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the world".

The main image on the stamp is a militia group carrying ammunition , food, etc. to serve the battlefield. The background of the stamp is an image of our troops capturing and raising the flag on the roof of the French Command bunker, representing the victorious end of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. The colors on the stamp background are dark, the trees are bombed by waves of bullets, etc., but they cannot stop the determination to fight and win of our people.
The images of the two sides' command posts are shown on models 1 and 2 to depict the opposition, fierce battle of wits... and the result of victory belongs to justice, to the bravery and resilience of the Vietnamese army and people.
Sample 3: “UNFORGETTABLE SONG”
Engrave and be grateful to the generations of fathers and ancestors who sacrificed their blood and bones to preserve every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland, expressed by the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" which has always been cared for by the Party and State in directing the care of wounded soldiers, soldiers, and policy regimes...

This gratitude is expressed through the image of a group of veterans visiting the old battlefield, visiting the Dien Bien Phu Victory History Museum, and the victory monument; taking that as motivation and an example for the younger generation to follow, determined to preserve the achievements left by their ancestors, maintain peace and freedom, and follow in the footsteps of their ancestors in building the Vietnamese homeland.
The stamp background is an image of the Geneva Agreement signing ceremony marking the great victory of the resistance war against France, in which the most important thing is the independence, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Vietnam, which all countries, including France, had to commit to respect.
Model 4: “PROSPERITY, HAPPINESS”
The sacrifice of the previous generation to bring independence and peace to the children of today and tomorrow. This idea is expressed through the image of a Thai ethnic girl welcoming the children of different ethnic groups to school with joy and happiness.

The stamp background is the blooming Ban flowers covering the sky on the ancient Dien Bien battlefield, now there are works serving the people, serving the economic development, tourism such as schools, golden rice fields, green energy vehicles, modern airports, planes taking off... All of these aim to convey the message about the innovation of Dien Bien in particular and of the country in general in the process of integration and development on par with other countries in the world.
Notably, all four stamps have Thai ethnic motifs arranged below as a background, thereby honoring the cultural diversity of ethnic minorities.
