(To Quoc) - The Tourist Information and Support Center at Chan May Port area was put into operation to introduce and promote Thua Thien Hue tourism and support tourists coming to this locality by ship.
On October 25, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue in collaboration with Chan May Port Joint Stock Company held an opening ceremony, officially putting into operation the Tourist Information and Support Center at Chan May Port. The center aims to introduce and promote Thua Thien Hue tourism and support cruise ship tourists when docking at Chan May Port; creating a good impression on tourists about an attractive, safe, friendly and hospitable destination.

Specifically, here tourism information will be provided to tourists through forms such as: leaflets, brochures, tourism information publications, tourism maps, tourism guidebooks and information, images, clips related to local tourist destinations; consulting tourists with the necessary information to have interesting experiences exploring cultural heritage, community tourism, ecology, spirituality, traditional crafts, shopping, health care, etc.
In addition, display and introduce some specialties, souvenirs, handicrafts, typical products of Hue to promote the culture as well as the image of Hue to cruise tourists; Organize support services for booking tours, booking transportation, places to experience cuisine, booking hotels and other services when needed. In particular, it is a place to support cruise tourists in cases of needing help and emergency handling such as: loss of personal documents, personal belongings, encountering negative phenomena (price gouging, theft, uncivilized actions, etc.) when going ashore for sightseeing.

On the occasion of the opening ceremony, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue and Chan May Port Joint Stock Company together with related units welcomed a group of tourists on the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship, Maltese nationality, of Royal Caribbean. The Celebrity Millennium ship brought 2,150 passengers and 958 crew members to Chan May port at 6:00 a.m. the same day. The Tourist Information and Support Center at Chan May port welcomed tourists on the ship to visit and look for tourist information when coming to Thua Thien Hue.
According to information from Chan May Port Joint Stock Company, in 2024, Chan May Port will welcome 41 cruise ships with more than 90,000 passengers and crew members. In the first 10 months of the year, nearly 60,000 passengers and crew members have been welcomed.

Revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 6,500 billion VND. It is estimated that in 2024, the tourism industry will achieve the planned targets: welcoming about 4 million tourists, total revenue from tourists reaching 7,500-8,000 billion VND.
