Opening and awarding ceremony of Hanoi Regional Art Photography Festival 2024

(NADS) - On the morning of June 12, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists coordinated with the Hanoi Association of Artistic Photography to organize the 11th Hanoi Regional Artistic Photography Festival in 2024 with the theme "Hanoi, the Heritage Land".

NSNA-NB Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Architect Nguyen Van Hai, Vice President of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts awarded the Gold Medal to author Nguyen Thi Bich Huong.

Attending the ceremony were: Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, Head of the Photography Theory and Criticism Board; Architect Nguyen Van Hai, Vice President of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts, President of the Hanoi Architects Association; Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; Artist Nguyen Van Toan, President of the Hanoi Association of Photography and Arts; journalist Vuong Minh Hue, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Ha Noi Newspaper; Artist Doan Hoai Trung, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Photography; Writer Tran Gia Thai, President of the Hanoi Writers Association; Screenwriter Bang Mai Phuong, President of the Hanoi Cinema Association...

The festival is organized to contribute to preserving and promoting national cultural identity and developing tourism in the integration period through photographic works about cultural heritage recognized and listed by UNESCO (tangible and intangible cultural heritage, cultural and natural heritage, documentary heritage) of the capital Hanoi.

NSNA-NB Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, delivered the opening speech.

The Organizing Committee received 914 works, including 832 single photos and 82 photo sets from 138 authors in the Hanoi area. Through many rounds of selection, the Jury discussed directly and selected 68 works (07 photo sets and 62 single photos) from 45 authors to exhibit and enter the award round.

"The award-winning works all carry the breath of real life of Hanoi Capital on the path of integration and development. In addition, based on the foundation of traditional cultural heritage, the birth and development of new cultural spaces of Hanoi but still preserving and promoting heritage values ​​in a sustainable way. It is very gratifying that participating in this Festival, there are many young authors who have explored, especially female authors, the authors have explored and searched to have many new and strange angles that impress a beautiful, ancient city. These precious values ​​need to be preserved, passed down and promoted so that heritage is always a bridge between the past and the present. Especially to become a traditional cultural foundation affirming the identity of Hanoi, an important resource to exploit and develop tourism in the Capital in the period of international integration."
