Opening of the exhibition and award ceremony of the 9th Quang Ngai Province Art Photography Contest

(NADS) - On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Quang Ngai Provincial Literature and Arts Association (October 2, 1989 - October 2, 2024), on the morning of October 2, the Quang Ngai Provincial Literature and Arts Association held the opening ceremony of the exhibition and award ceremony of the 9th Quang Ngai Provincial Art Photography Contest - 2024 with the theme: "Quang Ngai - Moments". The contest was sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Artist Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Artists, Chairman of the Art Council; Artist Dao Tien Dat, member of the Jury of the contest; representatives of the Departments, Branches, Associations of Quang Ngai Province and City; leaders and members of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, authors participating in the contest and a large number of people who love artistic photography in the province.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition and award ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Dang Vu, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Literature and Arts Association, also reviewed the development of the Quang Ngai Literature and Arts Association over the past 35 years, especially the members who have achieved many outstanding achievements in the fields of literature, music, fine arts, photography, folk culture, etc. Notably, after 3 months of organization, the 9th Quang Ngai Provincial Art Photography Contest in 2024 received 567 works. Of which, there were 546 single photos and 21 photo sets by 29 authors who are professional and non-professional photographers in Quang Ngai province.

The works participating in the contest reflected the innovation and development of Quang Ngai in the economic - cultural - social fields; introduced scenic spots, historical relics, landscapes, moments in the life and daily activities of Quang Ngai people, tangible and intangible cultural values...

From September 5 to 11, the jury of the contest included Artist Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Artists - President of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Artists, Head of the jury; Artist Pham Van Ty and Artist Dao Tien Dat, members who judged online 3 qualifying rounds, selected 89 works for the exhibition and award rounds. From these 89 works, the authors enlarged the paper photos for the jury to select 11 excellent works to win prizes including: 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the First Prize of the competition to author Bui Thanh Trung with the work: Ly Son sea swimming competition; awarded 2 Second Prizes to Nguyen Huu Thu with the work: Shift to ensure safety of the power system and Cao Nguyen Vu with the work: Co Luy Bridge; awarded 3 Third Prizes to Nguyen Huu Thu, Cao Nguyen Vu and Nguyen Duc Minh with the works: Autumn Colors of Bau Ca Cai, Shield for a peaceful life and My Lai Violin; awarded 5 Encouragement Prizes to authors: Bui Thanh Trung, Nguyen Van Minh, Nguyen Vo Truong Linh, Doan Vuong Quoc and Nguyen Duc Minh.

The 9th Quang Ngai Provincial Art Photography Contest - 2024 aims to create conditions for photographers in the province to create art photos about their homeland, people, innovation and development, contributing to promoting the image of Quang Ngai to domestic and international friends.

The exhibition of 100 artistic photos by authors, organizers, and judges will take place at Dien Hong Youth Activity Center, 60-62 Hung Vuong, Quang Ngai City from October 2 to October 6, 2024.
