On the afternoon of February 8, in Tan Son commune, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang), the opening ceremony of the Sloong hao singing festival and the 2025 Spring market in the mountainous area of Luc Ngan district took place.
Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lai Thanh Son - former Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, units, localities and a large number of people from communes inside and outside Luc Ngan district.
The Sloong Hao Singing Festival and the Luc Ngan Highland Spring Market are part of the Bac Giang Province Culture - Tourism Week 2025, held from February 8 to February 11, 2025 in the communes of Tan Son and Phong Van (Luc Ngan district).
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Vu Van Thuy - Permanent Vice Chairman of Luc Ngan District People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said that the Sloong Hao Singing Festival and the Spring Market in the highlands of Luc Ngan District continued to be selected as one of the special cultural festivals to connect with the series of events of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture - Tourism Week of Bac Giang Province in 2025. With the aim of maintaining, preserving, developing and introducing, widely promoting the traditional cultural beauty rich in identity of the ethnic people in the highlands of Luc Ngan District, moving towards building typical cultural tourism products of the locality, connecting with the potential cultural - tourism space of Bac Giang Province, the Sloong Hao Singing Festival and the Spring Market in the highlands of Luc Ngan District this year were organized with many rich and unique cultural, artistic, sports and folk cultural activities.
Every year, on the 11th and 12th of January, the Tay and Nung ethnic groups inside and outside the district eagerly meet at Thac Luoi - Tan Son market, followed by Phong Van market on the 13th, 14th and 15th. The highland markets are the traditional meeting places of the ethnic groups inside and outside the district. This is a space imbued with the cultural colors of the highland ethnic groups from their languages, costumes, cuisine, and customs. The indigo shirts, red scarves, and hand-sewn bags are the crystallization of the indigo growing, weaving, and sewing professions that create the unique costumes of the highland ethnic groups.
The melodies of the sloong hao are gentle and loving, love-making, dating; the antiphonal singing, sli luong singing of friends from near and far, regardless of young or old, male or female, to get to know each other, to exchange and build friendship, to share experiences in life, labor and production,... they entrust many promises for love, love of life,... That is why the highland market of Tan Son, Phong Van has long been known by the people as "love market", which is the origin of the name "Thac Luoi - Tan Son Love Market" which has been passed down to this day. With its unique beauty that cannot be found anywhere else, "Tan Son Love Market" attracts more and more people of all ethnic groups, friends, tourists from all localities, provinces and districts to visit, exchange and join the festival.
Coming to the Sloong Hao Singing Festival and the Spring Market of Luc Ngan highlands in the early spring, delegates and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy typical culinary culture; participate in traditional folk games to serve the needs of exploration and experience of tourists and people.

At the Sloonghao singing festival and the Spring market in the highlands of Luc Ngan district this year, a number of products are on sale, such as: Ethnic costumes, souvenirs, traditional handicrafts of ethnic minorities; traditional culinary products: cakes, meat paste, Cam Son lake fish, dried buffalo meat; agricultural and forestry products such as medicinal herbs, fruits, agricultural and forestry plant varieties, corn, potatoes, cassava... The area for selling and exchanging culinary culture has the participation of the communes: Tan Hoa, Deo Gia, Phu Nhuan, Phi Dien.
Units arrange cooking areas, bake cakes, fry cakes and prepare some dishes for people and tourists to visit, experience, enjoy and buy products. The arrangement of the culinary area is similar to the arrangement of the space at a rural market.
The Sloong Hao singing festival and the Spring market in the highlands of Luc Ngan district contribute to promoting the propaganda and promotion of spring tourism, tourism products and the potential for local tourism development; tourism cooperatives build and renovate facilities, create landscapes to welcome guests; link cooperatives and gardeners in building tours, routes, and connecting tourist destinations in the area.
Within the framework of the singing festival, the Organizing Committee also organized sports competitions and folk games such as: Blindfolded pot smashing, sack jumping. Organized the Men's Football Championship of Luc Ngan district at Phong Van and Tan Quang commune stadiums; and the Tug of War Championship of Luc Ngan district at Tan Son commune stadium.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, folk song clubs from 8 highland communes including Tan Son, Phong Van, Cam Son, Phong Minh, Sa Ly, Ho Dap, Son Hai, Kim Son exchanged and competed in singing at the central stage of Tan Son Commune People's Committee. The performances were about praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland and the country; the renovation process; creative points in production, study and work; patriotic emulation movements in the area, the beauty of traditional national culture; the movement "Building new rural areas"; the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life"...
