Tourists are allowed to clear customs through Bac Luan II border gate from December 11.

Mong Cai City People's Committee has just issued Notice No. 641/TB-UBND dated December 6, 2023 on the time and types of passengers passing through Mong Cai international border gate (Bac Luan II bridge area).

Accordingly, based on the agreed content between the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the People's Government of the Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi province (China) and the correspondence of the Department of Commerce and Border Gate Management of Dongxing City (China), from December 11, 2023, tourists using passports and official border travel passes are allowed to clear customs through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Area).

Customs clearance time: From 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hanoi time (ie from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Beijing time). For Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan I Border Gate), customs clearance time and passenger types remain unchanged.

To ensure conditions for customs clearance for passengers through Bac Luan II border gate, Mong Cai City People's Committee directed the Border Gate sector, Tan Dai Duong International Import-Export Joint Stock Company, and Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board to proactively arrange sufficient forces, vehicles, and equipment, ensure security and order, and create the most favorable conditions for citizens of the two countries when carrying out immigration procedures through Mong Cai international border gate (Bac Luan II bridge area).

Arrange staff to be on duty at intersections between freight vehicle routes and passenger tram routes to guide and direct vehicles, ensure safety for people, vehicles and goods on the vehicles, and avoid conflicts.

Regulate cargo vehicles and tourist electric cars across Bac Luan II Bridge, ensuring safe and smooth customs clearance. Arrange shared forces and facilities to ensure safe and smooth import-export activities in the border gate area.

Previously, on the morning of November 29, at the demarcation line of Bac Luan II Bridge, Mong Cai City (Vietnam) and Dongxing City (China) jointly held a ceremony to launch the passenger entry and exit function through Mong Cai International Border Gate at the Bac Luan II Bridge border gate area.

At the same time, according to information from the Department of Commerce and Border Gate Management of Dongxing City, Guangxi Province (China), on December 6, the General Administration of Customs of China simultaneously approved the permission for 3 designated management and supervision areas for imported frozen seafood, imported aquatic animals used as food, and imported plant varieties at Dongxing Road Border Gate (Beilun II Bridge area) to deploy import goods management and supervision services.

Thus, from December 8, frozen seafood products, aquatic animals used as food, and plant varieties are allowed to be exported to the Chinese market and can go through customs clearance procedures via Bac Luan II Bridge.

The Department of Trade and Border Gate Management of Dong Hung City requested the Management Board of Mong Cai International Border Gate (Vietnam) to widely disseminate information to businesses and companies to declare customs agents on the Vietnamese side. At the same time, support businesses on the Vietnamese side to carry out customs clearance procedures for frozen seafood products, aquatic animals used as food, and plant varieties through Bac Luan II Bridge.

This is the result of the efforts of Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam) and Dongxing City, Guangxi Province (China) in exchanging, coordinating to remove obstacles, and proposing sustainable solutions to promote entry and exit activities for cross-border tourism activities of people on both sides; at the same time, promoting and increasing the consumption of Vietnamese seafood products to the Chinese market and vice versa.
