Kinhtedothi - Regarding the target of the rate of communes and wards meeting national health standards, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said that Hanoi City set a target of reaching 100% by 2025, and to date, 98.9% of communes, wards and towns have met national health standards.
On the afternoon of December 11, the City People's Council questioned and answered questions on the second group of issues, regarding the implementation of a number of targets and tasks of the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period.
Speeding up hospital upgrade projects
Delegate Hoang Thi Tu Anh (Phuc Tho District People's Council Delegation) questioned Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha about the hospital bed quota per 10,000 people that is currently exceeding the quota, but there is still a situation of overload in some hospitals. The delegate asked the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee to provide specific information on hospital bed quotas, solutions to promote national standards on healthcare; and at the same time clarify the slow progress of hospital upgrade projects.
Responding to the questions of the delegates, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha informed that, implementing Resolution 02/NQ-HDND City dated April 8, 2022 of the City People's Council on investing in the three fields of education, health and relics, the implementation of projects in the three fields has been focused on and directed strongly. The Steering Committee, all levels, sectors and the City People's Committee regularly meet to remove difficulties and obstacles.
According to the target set by the Party Congress Resolution for the 2021-2025 period, Hanoi strives to achieve 30-35 hospital beds per 10,000 people (at that time, the city achieved 27.5 hospital beds per 10,000 people). During the 2021-2025 term, the city has focused on implementing Resolution 02/NQ-HDND, so far the number of hospital beds has increased by 10,212 beds, expected to reach 37.2 hospital beds per 10,000 people by June 2025.
Specifically, the public sector managed by the city increased by 1,484 hospital beds, including: completion of Hanoi Children's Hospital (200 beds), Nam Thang Long Hospital transferred from the Ministry of Transport to manage 260 beds; on the basis of implementing the arrangement and layout of areas, an increase of 1,024 hospital beds was achieved.
Regarding the group of non-public hospitals, the city has a number of hospitals inaugurated and put into use, increasing the total number of beds by 552. In addition, the number of beds increased from the ratio of beds of central hospitals, ministries and branches treating Hanoi people is 8,176 beds.
Expected to have additional hospital beds by June 2025
Regarding projects in the group implementing Resolution 22/2022/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2022, some hospitals are implementing, in which the City assigned the People's Committees of districts to propose investment policy reports with 15 projects for implementation. Currently, the steps are being implemented; according to the general progress of the City and assigned to the districts for implementation, it is expected that in June 2025, there will be additional hospital beds.
Regarding the target of the rate of communes and wards meeting national health standards, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said that the city set a target of reaching 100% by 2025, and so far 98.9% of communes, wards and towns have met national health standards. Currently, there are 6 communes and wards in 3 districts of Cau Giay district, Chuong My district and My Duc district that have not been completed, so the city has not yet submitted a request for recognition.
“According to reports from localities, investment projects are currently being implemented and are expected to be completed before the term. Once completed, they will be eligible for recognition of national health standards. Thus, by the end of the term, the city will have completed the national health standards,” informed Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha.
