Connecting farmers' products to e-commerce platforms

In order to support farmers in digital transformation in production and consumption of agricultural products and goods, in recent times, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Quang Tri Provincial Post Office have actively coordinated and implemented many trade promotion activities, especially bringing farmers' products to e-commerce platforms. Thereby, contributing to promoting and connecting markets for OCOP products and key agricultural products of localities.

Implementing the cooperation plan between the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Post Office to support farmers in digital transformation in production and consumption of agricultural products and goods in the period of 2021 - 2025, in 2023, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Post Office coordinated to collect information of about 10,000 agricultural production households on the Postmart e-commerce trading floor (now renamed Buudien.vn). Integrating into conferences, training, training, and events of the Farmers' Association to train on digital skills, business skills on the Buudien.vn e-commerce trading floor for more than 1,050 farming households.

At the same time, based on the list of products certified as OCOP products in the 2019 - 2022 period of the province and products certified for local quality introduced by farmers' associations at all levels, the Farmers' Association of the province and district has compiled, selected and connected with suppliers whose products meet quality requirements and connected with the provincial and district Post Offices to sell farmers' agricultural products through 2 forms: online booths on the Buudien.vn e-commerce platform and direct sales at the safe agricultural product booth of the postal system.

As a result, 10 digital booths with more than 60 safe products of farmers have been set up on the Buudien.vn e-commerce platform. The total number of booths of the province on the Buudien.vn e-commerce platform after 2 years of implementation has reached 70 digital booths with more than 450 agricultural products of more than 80 suppliers in the province connected by the Provincial Farmers' Association.

Notably, in addition to the 10 digital booths that are typical of each district, town, city and Hung Vuong Post Office, the remaining 60 digital booths are set up by agricultural production households including cooperatives, cooperative groups, companies, etc. The products of the digital booths are mainly agricultural products and OCOP products that meet quality standards.

For the direct form, 10 booths have been maintained in the post office system to support the safe consumption of agricultural products for farmers, businesses and cooperatives in the area. The total estimated quantity of agricultural products sold through the two forms reached over 9,500 items, with revenue reaching over 530 million VND. In which, good-selling products include: Khai Ha fish sauce, Truong Son essential oil, Thanh Thu tapioca starch, Mai Thi Thuy medicinal herbs, Lam Xuan melon seeds, Lao Bao dried bananas, Cua pepper, Loan Hao vermicelli...

In addition, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Post Office also coordinated with the Provincial Industrial Promotion Center to organize an exhibition and introduction of rural industrial products and safe agricultural products with 10 booths from 9 districts, towns, cities and Khe Sanh Agricultural Cooperative with more than 200 rural industrial products and safe agricultural products of localities on the occasion of the 12th Provincial Farmers' Association Congress.

Coordinate with Luong An Post Office (Dong Ha City) to organize a green food and consumer stall in the form of subsidies to support disadvantaged farming households in Vinh Tu and Vinh Thai communes, Vinh Linh district at the program "Supporting farmers" in 2023.

Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Tran Van Ben affirmed that the cooperation program between the two sectors has contributed to expanding and diversifying trade promotion activities, enhancing promotion and connecting markets for OCOP products and key agricultural products of localities. Promoting rapid product consumption to avoid agricultural product congestion during peak harvest season; helping farmers maintain agricultural product prices, avoiding dependence on traders and intermediaries...

According to Mr. Ben, based on the achieved results, in 2024, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Post Office are continuing to deploy the provision of information on agricultural production households, support the creation of sales accounts, and post products of about 2,200 agricultural production households with safe agricultural products on the Buudien.vn platform.
