On September 13, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich met in the Eastern European country's capital Minsk.

According to Iran's official IRNA news agency, the two sides called for expanding cooperation in the fields of industry, mining and trade.
Minsk and Tehran also urged strengthening bilateral relations in strategic aspects and on the international stage, including frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group of leading emerging economies.
Mr. Ahmadian stressed the two countries' common stance on promoting multilateralism in the international system and proposed enhancing bilateral cooperation in this area, stressing that the SCO and BRICS and similar frameworks are the precursors of the new world order.
In addition, the Iranian security official also highlighted the need to expand cooperation among independent countries to counter unilateral Western policies.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council expressed agreement with the Iranian side on promoting multilateralism, noting that the two countries share similar views and are taking solid steps in this direction.
According to IRNA , Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian also met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. During the meeting, the leader invited President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Minsk, and called on the two countries to further strengthen cooperation, in the context of the complicated political situation in the world.
Mr. Lukashenko also appreciated Iran's support for Belarus's membership in the SCO and BRICS.
For his part, Mr. Ahmadian said that Iran and Belarus are old allies and hoped that cooperation between the two countries would expand further in the future.
