Bamboo Airways said that after the airline's reports and recommendations sent to the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department and other relevant authorities, on the morning of October 15, in Quy Nhon City, leaders of the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department and Bamboo Airways had a direct working session chaired by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the meeting, the two sides actively discussed and sought solutions to resolve difficulties and obstacles related to tax debts, in the spirit of supporting and creating conditions for Bamboo Airways to successfully implement the comprehensive restructuring project according to the direction of the Prime Minister .
Based on Bamboo Airways' commitment to pay tax debt according to the schedule and the bank's guarantee of monthly tax debt payment, on the afternoon of October 16, the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department issued an official document canceling the temporary suspension of exit for Mr. Luong Hoai Nam.
During the time Bamboo Airways gradually pays its tax debt as committed, the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department will not apply other tax enforcement measures against the airline, creating conditions for Bamboo Airways to stabilize its operations, successfully restructure and develop effectively.
Previously, in a document sent to the General Department of Taxation and the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department regarding support to remove difficulties and handle tax debts, Bamboo Airways said that despite taking many drastic actions and implementing comprehensive restructuring, the airline's operations still faced many difficulties and problems.
In addition, Bamboo Airways has recently received consecutive decisions and notices from the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department regarding the application of coercive measures and account freezing. On September 20, the airline also received a notice of temporary suspension of departure for Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, General Director - legal representative, because the company has not fulfilled its tax obligations.
According to Bamboo Airways, the application of this measure not only affects Mr. Nam personally, but also has negative impacts and seriously affects the entire operation of the airline.
This led to an immediate and serious decline in the company's revenue (about 60%) compared to before that time, as many partners canceled contracts and customers stopped using the company's products/services.
Therefore, Bamboo Airways urgently requests and hopes that the authorities consider removing tax restrictions/enforcement measures against Bamboo Airways, especially the temporary suspension of entry and exit for Mr. Nam. At the same time, the airline is allowed to gradually pay the tax debt each month, with a committed amount of 10 billion VND/month.
Responding to the above proposal of Bamboo Airways, the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department issued a document stating that as of July 31, the company still owed more than 296 billion VND in taxes.
On August 27, the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department issued 11 decisions to enforce tax collection by withdrawing money from accounts, requesting account freezing for the company, along with a notice to temporarily suspend exit from the country for Mr. Luong Hoai Nam.
The tax authority has repeatedly urged, notified of tax arrears, invited to work... in many different forms, but the company has not yet fulfilled its tax payment obligations. Therefore, the Binh Dinh Provincial Tax Department believes that "there is no basis to notify the cancellation of the temporary suspension of exit from the country for the company's legal representative".
