Towards a green city model, sustainable development

The North Hanoi Smart City Project, implemented by the North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Company, has a total estimated investment of nearly 4.2 billion USD on a total area of nearly 272 hectares in Hai Boi, Vinh Ngoc and Kim No communes, Dong Anh district.

On November 11, in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Company (NHSC), a joint venture between BRG Group (Vietnam) and Sumitomo Group (Japan), officially announced the implementation of North Hanoi Smart City.

The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio, and many leaders of ministries, central agencies, provinces and Hanoi city.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that the project implemented in Vinh Ngoc, Hai Boi and Kim No communes of Dong Anh district was formed from the results and consistent efforts of the governments of Vietnam and Japan, and is a concrete symbol of the friendship between the two countries.

The project has a 108-storey Financial Tower, which is on the list of key projects approved by the Hanoi People's Council. It is a large-scale design project that demonstrates new, creative ideas and technologies of international stature, within a synchronous, modern overall planning.

The project is expected to contribute to the realization of the Hanoi Capital Master Plan approved by the Prime Minister, creating momentum for the socio-economic development of Hanoi city in general and Dong Anh district in particular; contributing to the basic indicators for developing Dong Anh district into a district and the future of the northern city according to the direction and policies of the Politburo in Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 on the direction and tasks of developing Hanoi capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan requested the North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Company to continue to closely coordinate with central ministries, branches, departments and branches of the city, and the People's Committee of Dong Anh district to complete the backlog in site clearance, procedures for land allocation, land lease, construction permit issuance and related procedures to promptly implement the project according to the investment phases, ensuring progress according to the approved plan and schedule.

The North Hanoi Smart City project is positioned as a very important project for Sumitomo Corporation and BRG Group.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairwoman of BRG Group and Vice Chairwoman and General Director of North Hanoi Smart City Company, shared: "This will be a long journey, possibly lasting many years, but we have achieved a vision of a modern, classy, beautiful smart city, aiming for green growth where people develop sustainably through many generations. What we need is enthusiasm, effort and determination to work together to complete each milestone on that journey."

The North Hanoi Smart City will apply the quintessence of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution in the world, aiming for a sustainable city model through green living and application of modern technology.

The North Hanoi Smart City is built on 4 core values: "Future-Connection-Cleanliness - Safety" and applies 6 smart solutions including: smart energy, smart mobility, smart management, smart living, smart health and learning, and finally, smart economy.

When completed and put into operation, the North Hanoi Smart City will be a place where people will not only be customers using services but will join hands to build a sustainable community as owners of the city.

On this occasion, the North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Company donated 1 billion VND to build 20 solidarity houses in Dong Anh district.
