After a period of use, iPhone speakers often get dusty, making the iPhone not only unsightly but also negatively affecting product performance. Accordingly, cleaning and maintaining iPhone speakers plays a very important role in maintaining product durability.

Below are some ways users can apply to clean iPhone speakers.

Use cotton swabs

Besides the usual uses such as cleaning ears, cotton swabs are also used to clean small gaps of devices including iPhone speakers.

To clean the iPhone speaker, users can soak a cotton swab in a little low-concentration alcohol and gently wipe the outside of the speaker membrane. Adding alcohol will help dust stick to the cotton tip more easily and remove dirt stuck on the speaker membrane.

Use a toothbrush

A toothbrush with tiny bristles is also an ideal choice for cleaning the speaker membrane for iPhone. When cleaning, gently brush along the speaker slot in one direction to push dirt out. Avoid rubbing too hard or pressing the brush too deep inside because it is easy to break the bristles and fall inside.

Using a paintbrush

The paintbrush has a similar structure to a toothbrush, but it is usually smaller in size, so it is easier to clean. With the paintbrush, the user will also gently sweep along the speaker membrane to remove dirt. However, when using the paintbrush, the user should not wet it to avoid splashing water droplets inside the speaker, causing damage.

Cleaning with compressed air spray

Specialized compressed air cleaning sprays are widely available at phone repair shops or hardware stores. When cleaning, the spray should be held 20-30cm away from the iPhone speaker and sprayed at a moderate level to blow the dirt out. If the user holds it too close or sprays too hard, it can be counterproductive and blow the dirt deeper inside.

How to clean iPhone speakers with tape

To clean iPhone speakers at home, users can use 2-3cm tape, then roll it up with the adhesive side on the outside. The size after rolling should be only slightly larger than a toothpick to easily insert into the iPhone speaker slot.

Use the rolled tape to move along the speaker membrane and the dirt will stick to the tape. If you see that the tape is very dirty, you should replace it with another piece of tape, avoid reusing the old tape.

Clean iPhone speakers with Sonic app

In addition to cleaning with external tools, iPhone users also have another option to clean the speaker by downloading the Sonic application. After downloading, users just need to open the application and select the frequency. Then, press PLAY to clean the speaker. After pushing the dust out of the speaker, press STOP to stop.

For the app to work effectively, users should turn up the speaker volume to maximum before opening the Sonic app. Then let the app clean the speaker for at least 8 - 10 minutes before pressing STOP.

Other iPhone Speaker Repairs

After trying all the above methods but you feel that the speaker is still not really clear, now try to check again to see if the iPhone is on silent mode (mute) or vibrate mode. In addition, users also need to check the current volume level, then can proceed to restart the iPhone. This method fixes many problems related to software and system errors on the iPhone in general.
