(GLO)- That is the theme of this year's Vietnamese Family Day (June 28). Promoting and honoring the good, core values of the family is the way to build a prosperous and powerful country together.
A harmonious husband and wife make a happy family.
Coming together with sincere love, but to build a happy and fulfilled family like today is a process of joint efforts and cultivation of Mr. Doan Van Thao and Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Hieu (Dek village, Hbong commune, Chu Se district).
In 2000, Thao and Hieu got married. Hieu said that when they first got married, neither of them had stable jobs. Thao worked hard as a hired hand, while she sold fruit at the market. When her two children, Doan Truong Bao Ngoc Thu (born in 2006) and Doan Ba Thuan Thien (born in 2007), were born, their family life became even more difficult. However, they always encouraged each other to work hard and build a happy family.
“My hometown is Binh Dinh, and Thao's is Thanh Hoa. Both parents live far away, in difficult circumstances, although they love their children very much, they cannot support them in any way. Understanding that, my husband and I try to work hard and save money to take care of our children. After a period of struggle, in 2013, my husband and I were able to buy a small house. My husband and I always support each other in work, share housework and raise children. Happiness for my family is simply peace, healthy children, conscious of studying and practicing, and husband and wife love, equality, and support each other in work and life" - Ms. Hieu shared.

Mr. Ksor Thu and Ms. Ro Lan Be (Ser-Do Mo village, Kong Htok commune, Chu Se district) have also lived happily together for more than 10 years. They always understand, share, support each other in work and take care of the family. Therefore, they are one of the typical, exemplary cultural families in the locality.
Every day, Mr. Thu takes care of more than 1 hectare of coffee, and Ms. Be is a teacher at Tran Hung Dao Primary School (Al Ba Commune, Chu Se District). Both of their children have been excellent students for many years. Mr. Thu said: “My husband and I were born and raised in the same village. When we first got married, I was very worried. But then my husband and I advised each other on how to do business, shared joys and sorrows, and found a common voice, so we gradually overcame the difficulties. I think family pressure is real, but as long as husband and wife love each other and children are filial and well-behaved, all difficulties and obstacles can be overcome. At that time, the family is truly a solid support for each member, creating motivation to strive, giving wings to bigger dreams and ambitions.”
Promote the building of cultural and progressive families
Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) is an occasion to remind everyone to cherish, love and care for their loved ones in the family. The two words family are always sacred and noble in every person's life. However, building a happy family is not easy and requires many factors.
Every year, localities organize registration and evaluation of cultural family titles. By the end of 2022, the whole province had 302,000/369,992 families meeting cultural standards, reaching a rate of 81.62%, an increase of 2% compared to 2021.
Ms. Le Thi Hong - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Chu Se district - said: In response to this year's Vietnamese Family Day, the Department coordinated with the District Women's Union to organize the "Family Meal, Warm Love" Contest with cooking, performing arts and sports competitions. Families participated in a joyful, warm atmosphere, full of love, contributing to spreading to the community the responsibility to preserve the family home and good traditional cultural values.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said: Each person has their own way of building a happy family, but in general, they all include factors such as: respect, responsibility, equality, sharing, love. With the assigned responsibility, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism closely coordinates with departments, branches, organizations, and localities to implement family work, prevent and combat domestic violence quite well; build a database on families; replicate typical family models; organize a contest to learn about legal knowledge about family and prevent and combat domestic violence in the province in 2023 with the theme "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation".

In addition, the Department continues to implement the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" focusing on building a cultural family associated with preventing and combating domestic violence; implementing the Code of Conduct in the family... On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day this year, districts, towns and cities in the province have simultaneously organized many exciting activities such as: "Family meal, warm love" contest; meeting and praising exemplary families in building a prosperous, equal, progressive and happy family; joining hands to repel domestic violence...
This is a practical activity, not only to encourage, promote and spread good family cultural traditions but also to promote solutions to build prosperous, progressive and happy families, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
