Recently, many farmers in Phu Loc district have become business owners, owners of production and service establishments, and farm owners with high incomes from 800 million to 1.5 billion VND per year. A typical example is Mr. Huynh Van Khanh in Giang Hai commune with a model of growing ornamental water lilies on an area of 4 hectares, supplying 40,000 plants to the market each month. Total revenue each year is 4-5 billion VND, after deducting expenses, profit is 1-1.5 billion VND. The model also creates jobs for 10 regular workers and 5 seasonal workers with monthly income ranging from 6-10 million VND/person.
A series of farmers who are good at production and business have become rich legitimately, such as Mr. Nguyen Van Tuy in Loc Bon commune with a combined agricultural and forestry model, earning a profit of 1.75 billion VND/year. Households such as Nguyen Thi Ba, Ho Da The (Loc Bon), Tran Tuat (Loc Tien), Van Viet Nguyen (Giang Hai), Nguyen Loc in Vinh My and many other farmers know how to do business, overcome difficulties and challenges to become millionaires and billionaires in their homeland.
Ms. Dang Hoang Ai Thuy, President of the Farmers’ Association of Phu Loc district, affirmed that the movement of good farmers has promoted strong cooperative relationships among farmer families. Farmers’ Associations at all levels in the district have many solutions to help many farming households facing difficult circumstances develop production and improve their lives. Many farming households have developed businesses and services, opening new industries that bring benefits to their families and the community.
Collective economy is identified as a channel to mobilize resources to promote economic restructuring, develop industries, promote large-scale commodity production, increase investment, and apply science, technology, and technology to production. Phu Loc District Farmers' Association encourages farmers to unite into associations, cooperatives, and cooperatives, together with specialized agencies and grassroots Farmers' Association organizations to participate in converting cooperatives according to the law, and mobilize farmer members to participate in building cooperative relationships to help each other. Up to now, 52/52 cooperatives in the district have converted according to the law.
In the past 5 years alone, the Phu Loc District Farmers' Association has guided the establishment of 17 cooperative groups, 4 cooperatives for forestry, aquaculture and other service activities. The branch and professional association models have initially been effective. Through the activities of the branches and professional associations, members have linked together, shared experiences in production, market research, product branding and product consumption. Every year, Phu Loc district has 8,914 farmer households registering to strive for good production and business at all levels and 4,759 households achieving the title of good production and business farmers at all levels. Phu Loc district Farmers' Association has newly established 3 good production and business farmer clubs in Vinh Hung, Loc Bon, Vinh My communes with 76 members participating. The clubs have actively supported farmer members in doing business and developing family economy. |
