BTO-On the morning of April 24, at the relic site of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee base, the Liaison Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office during the resistance war against the US organized a traditional meeting of cadres and soldiers of the Binh Thuan and Binh Tuy Provincial Party Committee Offices during the resistance war against the US to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan Province (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2025) and the complete liberation of the South, reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Attending the event were comrade Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.
Recalling the tradition of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office during the resistance war against the US to save the country, Head of the Liaison Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office Nguyen Viet Hung was moved to recall the unforgettable memories in the mountains and forests of Sa Lon in the past - the place that used to be the center of the province's revolutionary leadership. He emphasized that on this sacred land, through many generations of Secretaries, the Provincial Party Committee office has overcome countless hardships, endured sacrifices, and is the place that ignited the spirit of solidarity and indomitable will to regain independence and freedom for the homeland and country.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Binh Thuan was one of the resilient localities, making many important contributions to the overall victory of the whole country. The Sa Lon base area - where the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee was stationed the longest - was considered the heart of the province's revolutionary movement, where the first Provincial Party Congress took place and witnessed many sacrifices and hardships, but also where the strength of national unity crystallized.
The Provincial Party Committee Office is the department that directly serves the Party's leadership, providing strategic advice and organizing logistics for all activities of the Provincial Party Committee. Since the resistance war against France, through many moves, separations and mergers, the Office has always played a central role, closely associated with every major movement of the local revolution. The Office's staff is responsible for everything from cryptography, logistics, radio, security to organizing conferences, directly participating in campaigns, fighting, and ensuring absolute safety for the Provincial Party Committee's headquarters.
In particular, in major battles, the Office not only served but also participated in combat, transported salt, evacuated the wounded, and maintained uninterrupted communications. Nearly 80 officers sacrificed their lives, and two comrades were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Those silent sacrifices were the foundation for the resounding victories of the province. After the liberation day, many officers of the Office continued to be trusted by the Party to hold leadership positions, work as international experts, or become the core force in grassroots movements. Despite their old age and weak health, they still maintained their revolutionary spirit, continued to contribute and inspire future generations.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized the sacred significance of the event - not only an opportunity to meet and review glorious traditions but also an opportunity to express gratitude to the cadres and soldiers of the Provincial Party Committee Office - a force that has played an important role throughout the process of leading the revolution in the locality. Through many historical periods, the Provincial Party Committee Office has always been a direct, regular, loyal and dedicated support and advisory apparatus, contributing significantly to the great victory of the nation.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his deep gratitude to generations of former cadres and soldiers who, after liberation, continued to contribute to the cause of building and developing the homeland. Although each person has different circumstances, they all maintain their revolutionary qualities, promote exemplary roles, and continue to contribute in appropriate forms to Party work. In the assessment of the development situation of the province, he informed: In 2024, the province's GRDP increased by 7.25%, the budget revenue exceeded the estimate by 8.38%, and administrative reform indexes such as PAR INDEX, SIPAS, and PAPI all made strong progress. Along with that are positive changes in the fields of education, employment, social security, Party building and the political system, demonstrating the determination and continuous efforts of the entire political system and the entire people.
Comrade Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and appreciated the valuable contributions of the former officials of the Provincial Party Committee Office, and expressed his hope that they would continue to be a spiritual support, set a good example, and contribute to the Provincial Party Committee in overcoming difficulties, successfully carrying out political tasks, and building Binh Thuan to become more and more developed, civilized, and modern.
