More than 80 delegates from many countries seek solutions to improve university education management

On the morning of October 15, the SEAMEO Regional Training Center in Vietnam (SEAMEO RETRAC) in collaboration with the British Columbia International Education Council - Canada, the Canadian Association for International Education and the Canadian Association of Colleges and Schools (CICan) organized the 2024 annual international conference in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong, Director of SEAMEO RETRAC Center, believes that smart training strategies and management will help higher education institutions achieve better results in the future.

The conference took place over two days, October 15 and 16, with the theme "Leadership and management of higher education: Innovations and strategies in a global context".

At the workshop, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong, Director of SEAMEO RETRAC Center, said that global education is changing rapidly, especially with the continuous development of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, colleges and universities must continuously innovate their leadership and management strategies, apply information technology, and adjust their curriculum to suit the needs of society and learners.

"This is an opportunity for delegates to discuss leadership and entrepreneurship in higher education, and methods for integrating new types of technology. Higher education leaders must not only manage the organization but also inspire innovation, motivate students to equip themselves with critical thinking skills, adaptability, and global citizenship spirit, etc.," Ms. Duong emphasized.

The workshop took place over two days, October 15 and 16.

The workshop attracted more than 80 delegates and speakers who are leaders, managers, researchers, and experts from higher education institutions in Cambodia, Canada, Indonesia, Israel, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and Vietnam.

Mr. Camille Joseph Khoury, Head of CICan Cooperation and Knowledge Development, said that CICan has re-committed and worked to develop international partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region; at the same time, expanding cooperation opportunities in Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Cambodia.

"Our strategy is to seek opportunities and implement many areas of educational interest such as startups, AI, curriculum design, teaching, research... CICan is eager to establish cooperative relationships with organizations and educational institutions in Vietnam and the wider region" - Mr. Camille Joseph Khoury emphasized.
