On August 26, at the Revolutionary Traditional House (No. 1 Bacu Street, Ward 1, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province), the 24th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race in 2023 took place.
The tournament is organized by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

This year's tournament attracted more than 3,000 athletes. Of these, about 1,000 athletes bought BIBs and competed on the 21km and 10km courses; about 1,000 athletes competed in the 5km (men) and 3km (women) courses.

In addition, there are about 1,000 runners who are provincial leaders, departments, branches, localities, businesses, sponsors, students, armed forces and people.

In particular, this year's tournament welcomed 32 delegations of leaders, reporters, and journalists from press agencies across the country to participate in the race.

The 24th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race, the Organizing Committee decided to change and renew many contents to increase the attraction of the race. The biggest change is to organize BIB sales in the 21km and 10km half marathon courses.

Therefore, a large number of athletes outside the Southeast region registered to compete. Many athletes from Hanoi, the Central Highlands, the Southwest, the Central region... registered to compete. All competition distances were concentrated on the coastal route Tran Phu - Quang Trung - Ha Long - Thuy Van.

The total prize money of the 24th season is up to 300 million VND, an increase of nearly 40% compared to last year, making the 24th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race one of the long-distance races with the highest prize in Vietnam.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded First, Second, Third and Encouragement prizes for each competition distance; and awarded team prizes for the 5 km and 3 km events to the units.

The 24th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race is a regional event, preparing forces to participate in national cross country races, contributing to promoting the strong and even development of the sports movement in the Southeast provinces and cities. Thereby, contributing to promoting the image of the land and people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau to the people of the whole country.
