Young volunteer doctors from leading hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa have conducted free congenital heart disease screening for more than 2,000 children.

In Dak Glong district, on June 24, a group of young volunteer doctors from leading hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa conducted free congenital heart disease screening for more than 1,500 disadvantaged children, children in remote areas, and ethnic minority areas in the two communes of Quang Son and Dak Som (Dak Glong). The program also presented more than 1,500 gifts including candy, backpacks, milk, and school supplies worth about 200 million VND to disadvantaged children in the area.

Accordingly, children aged 16 and under who are found to have different congenital heart diseases during screening will be transferred to specialized medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa for treatment (surgery, intervention). In particular, the cost of treatment, travel, and accommodation for patients and their families will be supported by donors.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 23, the Association screened more than 500 children in the border district of Tuy Duc. After 2 days of screening more than 2,000 children in 2 districts (Dak Glong and Tuy Duc), 37 children with different congenital heart diseases were detected and will soon be supported for treatment (surgery, intervention) for them as soon as possible.

Coming to Dak Nong this time, the program aims to help children in remote areas, ethnic minority areas have access to modern medical services and have the opportunity to treat congenital heart defects for free with the best conditions. In addition to free screening and treatment of heart disease for children in Dak Nong, this is also an activity with the meaning of educating the spirit of love for people and the spirit of dedication, towards the community for young doctors of the Association.
