Students registered to take the exam in 13 subjects: math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese.
Among these subjects, literature has the largest number of students registered for the exam with 320 students; followed by English with 296 students; history with 234 students; geography with 230 students; biology with 196 students; and physics with 192 students. Russian has the fewest students registered for the exam with 52 students.
According to regulations, the condition for participating in the team selection exam is that students must have good or better academic and training results for the 2023-2024 school year, and be selected for the team of the unit registering for the exam.
Each student can only take part in one subject. In addition, students who won prizes in the 2023 and 2024 International Olympiads or students who are part of the City's excellent student team participating in the national excellent student competition in the 2023-2024 school year can also register to take part.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the national excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year will take place on December 25 and 26, 2024.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi has 234 students participating in the competition. With 184 students winning prizes (accounting for over 78.6%, 43 more than last year), Hanoi continues to be the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of prizes in the national excellent student competition.
In 184 prizes of Hanoi students, there were 14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes and 55 consolation prizes. With 14 first prizes, English had 6 first prizes; chemistry had 2 first prizes; math, biology, informatics, history, geography, French - each subject had 1 first prize.
