On the morning of March 7, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to hold a press conference to inform about the 2024 National Press Festival.
According to the Organizing Committee, this is the largest event ever and the first time it is held in the South, with a location in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, informed that this year the Organizing Committee chose Ho Chi Minh City as the venue for the Press Conference, because this is one of the bustling areas with many active press agencies, which have affirmed their role and position in the national press community.
The 2024 National Press Festival with the theme “Vietnamese Press - Pioneering, Innovating for the Revolutionary Cause of the Party and People” will be a highlight of the professionalism and modernity of the press. Clearly demonstrating the quality and scale of professional activities, exhibitions and displays as well as unique cultural and artistic programs.
This year's National Press Festival brings together more than 100 central and local press agencies, and all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 63 provinces and cities across the country.
The Press Festival will have an exhibition area on the history of Vietnamese journalism and 120 special press exhibition booths of press agencies from general to specialized, covering all aspects of economic - political - cultural - social - defense - security - foreign affairs.
In particular, the Press Festival has the participation of 64 OCOP product booths from 50 provinces and centrally-run cities.
Along with the exhibition and display, the 2024 Press Festival also organizes 10 discussion sessions with the participation of 60 speakers who are experienced journalists, leaders of leading Vietnamese press agencies, and prestigious international media experts.
The discussion sessions revolved around hot topics of interest to the press, such as: Enhancing Party spirit and orientation in journalism activities; Building a cultural journalism environment; Data journalism and outstanding content strategy; Investing and effectively applying technology in newsrooms; Competitiveness of television in the AI era; Investigative reporting - The journey of doing useful things; Effective cooperation models between the press, businesses and advertising agencies...
This year's National Press Festival will open on March 15 and last until March 17, 2024, on Le Loi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City; open from 8am to midnight to serve the people and visitors.
