Military Hospital 103 (Military Medical Academy) organized the 2023 Excellent and Elegant Nurse Contest on the evening of August 2 in Hanoi. Attending the contest were representatives of the hospital's leadership and Master Do Hong Thanh, Vice President of the Hanoi Nursing Association.
The contest is an opportunity for 75 nurses from more than 40 clinical departments in the Hospital to compete. They are excellent nurses selected by the unit to compete in this contest.
The contest is also an opportunity for the nursing team to update and improve their knowledge, professional practice skills, and communication skills. After the contest, the hospital will select candidates with high achievements and suitable to participate in the 2023 Military-wide Contest for Excellent and Elegant Nurses organized by the Military Medical Department.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Ngan, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 103, Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, assessed that the nursing team plays a very important role in taking care of patients' health. Professional nurses not only have good expertise but also must always care, listen, share the pain, worry about the difficulties of patients, and encourage and accompany patients to confidently overcome their illness.
At the contest, contestants went through 2 rounds with 4 contents: General knowledge; professional technical practice; Costume performance and Communication and behavior.
75 candidates took part in two exams: General knowledge and technical practice. In the general knowledge exam, candidates took a 50-minute multiple-choice test on the computer with 100 questions on basic nursing knowledge, internal nursing, surgical nursing; hospital professional work regime, hospital quality management, office information technology, infection control and scientific research...

In the technical practice content, candidates perform the following techniques: cardiopulmonary arrest first aid; intramuscular injection; intravenous injection, intravenous infusion, routine dressing change, and fixation of tibia fractures in a running station format.
After the first round of the general knowledge and technical practice competition, the Organizing Committee selected the 20 contestants with the highest results to continue to compete in the final ranking round. In the final ranking round, the 20 contestants will compete in the costume performance (including medical uniforms and self-selected costumes) to select the 10 best contestants to compete in the communication and behavior competition.
After the performance of 10 contestants, the Organizing Committee selected 6 contestants with the highest total score of all 4 contestants to award the prizes of the Competition: The first prize for all-around went to nurse: Nguyen Tuan Vu, Department of Surgical Resuscitation; two second prizes for all-around went to nurse Hoa Minh Vuong, Department of Joint Surgery and Nguyen Thi Kieu Diem, Department of Surgical Resuscitation. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 3 third prizes and 5 secondary prizes.
