Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Kieu Tan Thinh, Chairman of the District People's Committee, said: Ninh Son is a district with favorable conditions to develop sustainable commodity agriculture, especially forming large-scale concentrated crop production areas providing raw materials for the processing industry (cashew, sugarcane, corn, medicinal plants, etc.), as well as food (vegetables, beans, fruit trees, etc.), concentrated livestock promotion areas bringing high value and profit. In the period of 2021-2024, the district has deployed and replicated many agricultural production models, associated with shifting crop structure, which have brought positive results such as: High-tech grape growing model, seedless lemon, melon, orchid, goat, cow and sheep farming; At the same time, forming a specialty fruit growing area with high economic value not only for Ninh Thuan province but also for the entire Central Coast region.

Based on the assessment of the current status of agricultural production and land potential, the workshop consulted and recorded many opinions and proposals from experts, scientists , businesses and delegates on planning specialized crop areas, concentrated livestock areas as well as developing solutions for implementation, such as: Accelerating the formation of concentrated agricultural commodity production areas in the direction of specialization, linked to the processing industry and consumption markets; paying attention to investing in research and applying new scientific and technological advances in production. Supporting capital, tax and protection policies for products and intermediary organizations purchasing products from people.
Comrade Dang Kim Cuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province, shared proposals for restructuring multi-value crops in the district.
New investment, maintenance and repair of irrigation works serving agricultural production, investment associated with the development of intra-field and rural transport networks to better serve the needs of travel, transportation of agricultural products and consumption of goods of the people. Encourage enterprises to invest more in processing, consuming and exporting organic products to increase added value by diversifying organic products such as processing dishes, foods, beverages, medicinal herbs. Strengthen training and coaching for enterprises, producers and traders of organic products and improve the capacity of officials and civil servants at all levels to manage, inspect and supervise certification organizations and organic agricultural products.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, shared the issue of clean production, ensuring food hygiene and safety in the production and processing of agricultural products.
Speaking at the workshop, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that with the characteristics of the local terrain, climate and weather, Ninh Son district has a lot of potential and advantages for agricultural development. In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to pay attention to Ninh Son district and resolutely direct provincial departments and branches to promote the implementation of policies to support farmers in transferring scientific applications to production, mechanization in a modern direction, implementing the OCOP program for each commune, one product; good agricultural production in the direction of VietGap, GlobalGap, clean production, ensuring food hygiene and safety; applying high technology, processing industry, post-harvest preservation technology; supporting stamps, packaging, labels, building fruit brands and trademarks; tracing the origin, granting growing area codes to improve quality not only for domestic consumption but also for export to the world.

In addition, the province will continue to focus on investing in transport and irrigation infrastructure to ensure smooth irrigation and transportation of agricultural products, contributing to reducing post-harvest losses; processing industry, post-harvest preservation technology; capital support, diversifying investment resources through socialization, public-private partnership; continue to perfect policies to create favorable conditions to attract investors to develop agricultural production associated with product consumption according to the value chain; develop and expand markets, promote deep participation in domestic and international supply chains to ensure sustainability, contributing to promoting the agricultural economy of Ninh Son district to develop more and more.

Based on the consultation opinions of the delegates; the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned Ninh Son district and the consulting unit to review and absorb the delegates' comments and study relevant regulations to complete the Project: "Orientation for agricultural production development to 2030, vision to 2045 - Ninh Son district", submit to competent authorities for appraisal and approval according to regulations, as a legal basis for agricultural development in the coming time.
