National conference to review the Party's inspection and supervision work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024

"Party committees and Inspection Committees at all levels need to continue to pay attention to performing well the inspection and supervision tasks from the grassroots level" - That is the direction of Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai at the National Conference to review the Party's inspection and supervision work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024, organized by the Central Party Secretariat on the morning of December 27 in Hanoi.

Also attending the conference were Politburo members: Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; Director of the National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Party Central Committee Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai also attended.

Speaking at the Conference, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai commended the results of the implementation of inspection and supervision tasks of Party committees and Inspection Committees at all levels in 2023 and since the beginning of the 13th Party Congress term, emphasizing 3 outstanding results: The Central Inspection Committee has actively advised the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee to issue new documents on regulations and procedures in inspection and supervision work, meeting the requirements of Party building and rectification in the new period.

The Central Inspection Commission and Inspection Commissions at all levels have seriously, proactively and effectively carried out assigned tasks, especially issues that the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Executive Committee are focusing on directing, such as Party building and rectification, cadre work, and the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress... Inspections when there are signs of violations have been carried out resolutely, and many Party organizations and Party members have been strictly handled. The majority of disciplined cadres have strictly followed Party discipline.

The Central Inspection Commission and Inspection Commissions at all levels have strived to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party under conditions of many objective and subjective difficulties, meeting the requirements of Party building and rectification, completing a large volume of work, including difficult and complicated tasks to continue implementing the policy of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, regardless of who", receiving recognition and high appreciation from the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Executive Committee and Party committees at all levels.

"This is a great effort of the Inspection Committees at all levels and through that, the inspection staff has also been trained, matured, become more stable, have better capacity, and have more experience," Ms. Truong Thi Mai emphasized.

The Standing Secretariat also pointed out that the inspection and supervision process shows that although much has been thoroughly understood, the issue of self-reflection and self-correction is still limited and difficult. If the violations of Party members are not detected early by the grassroots Party organizations, by the Party committees, by the cadres themselves, but are only detected by the competent authorities, there will still be many difficulties in the work of Party building and rectification. Therefore, in the coming time, Party committees and Inspection Committees at all levels need to continue to pay attention to performing well the inspection and supervision tasks from the grassroots level.

Agreeing with the 6 key tasks to be implemented in 2024 stated in the Report at the Conference, the Standing Secretariat requested Party committees and Inspection Committees at all levels to specify and organize effective implementation.

The Central Inspection Commission and Inspection Commissions at all levels continue to recommend and advise the Party and State to amend, supplement, and perfect regulations, statutes, procedures, policies, and laws to strengthen prevention work and reduce violations by officials, especially violations not intentionally committed by Party members and Party organizations but due to unclear regulations and incomplete policies and laws.

"Party committees at all levels should strengthen leadership and direction, creating conditions for Inspection Committees at all levels to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, contributing to building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system, worthy of the trust of the Party and the people," the Standing Secretariat proposed.

Respectfully accepting the direction, Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, emphasized that 2024 is the fourth year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. The Party's policy is to continue to further promote the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, waste, and vested interests; tighten administrative discipline and order, strengthen inspection, supervision, and control of power.

The Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission requested Party committees and Inspection Commissions at all levels to focus on implementing the following main tasks: Continue to strictly implement the regulations, rules and guidelines of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Inspection Commission on inspection, supervision and Party discipline work. Review, amend, supplement and perfect regulations, rules, guidelines and procedures on inspection, supervision and Party discipline work to ensure consistency, strictness and conformity with Party regulations and practical conditions.

Along with that, focus on comprehensively, seriously and effectively implementing tasks according to the Party Charter and assigned tasks by the Party Committee; the focus is on inspection when there are signs of violations. Party Committees and Inspection Committees at all levels strengthen and promote thematic supervision to detect, prevent, and warn of violations and shortcomings.
