The workshop was organized in a combination of in-person and online formats with locations in 63 provinces and cities.

Multiplying the example of learning and following Uncle Ho

In her opening speech, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, said: The workshop was organized to study more deeply President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on the role of people in each field, the criteria for evaluating good citizens and good cadres in building and developing the country at all revolutionary stages according to his thoughts.

The workshop also has the task of reviewing the process of applying President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts to various fields of work, especially schools in the education and training system, to build goals, methods, and training programs for each level and field of study; thereby creating training products that meet the requirements of the revolutionary cause and national development in the new period.

The rich opinions of scientists at the workshop are an important basis for socio-political organizations and schools to develop plans for training and fostering the workforce in agencies and units; to develop appropriate training programs, contents and methods to have a team of "rosy, specialized" workers according to President Ho Chi Minh's wishes, meeting the requirements of serving the country in the coming time.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized: In recent times, under the direction of the Central Propaganda Department and the close coordination of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education has demonstrated its role as a social organization, taking the promotion of learning and talent as its operating principles, considering a learning society as its core task, implementing lifelong learning as a morality of a nation with a tradition of loving learning. The activities to support and promote lifelong learning of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education have created more strength for the country's education to develop steadily and achieve many important results in the international arena.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the Ministry of Education and Training and other agencies, ministries, branches and organizations to continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education to continue promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, actively responding to the national movement to compete in building a learning society and promoting lifelong learning launched by the Prime Minister. Each cadre, civil servant and citizen identifies key tasks in each period to constantly strive to become a good citizen and a good cadre, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the new era of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested that functional agencies and scientists continue to study and thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on good citizens and good cadres to apply to the continuous improvement of the quality of cadres, teachers, members of the Association for Promoting Education and the political, ideological and civic education of students, striving to become "learning citizens", contributing to the formation of high-quality human resources, "both red and specialized" for the country.

The opinions at the workshop were all heartfelt and good ways to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, applying them to the implementation of political tasks of their units and localities.

The Deputy Prime Minister assessed and suggested strengthening the dissemination of typical examples, popularizing good models and effective methods, creating a spread in society about the spirit of self-study, regular study, and lifelong learning; encouraging and replicating examples of diligence, perseverance, innovation, learning and following Uncle Ho.

The Deputy Prime Minister believes that, with the spirit of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, we will build a team of officials and citizens with both talent and virtue, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, bringing the country into a new period of development with many victories.

Inheriting Ho Chi Minh's ideology in human development

At the workshop, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said: To promote President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on training and striving to become good citizens, good cadres, and good human resources, in the 2018 General Education Program being implemented, the Ministry of Education and Training especially emphasizes "good people". That is, people who are honest, responsible, and happy, only then can there be good citizens and good human resources.

The 2018 general education program aims to form and develop 5 main qualities for students: patriotism, compassion, diligence, honesty, responsibility and core competencies: autonomy and self-study, communication and cooperation, problem-solving and creativity... These competencies and qualities inherit the spirit of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in human development, while meeting the requirements of the times in terms of competencies, qualities, and skills.

In the guidelines for political activities and flag-raising activities at the beginning of the school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has requested localities and schools to organize the implementation of Uncle Ho's 5 teachings, which is a simple inheritance of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology. Along with that is the requirement for students to sing the National Anthem when saluting the flag. "Thus, students are required to do things from small to big, from specific actions to reach the common goal," the Minister emphasized.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing issues related to President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on criteria for evaluating good citizens, good cadres and striving to become good citizens and good cadres in the current context. Along with that is the application of President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts in building training goals, training programs, training methods to have a "red, specialized" team; difficulties and obstacles in implementing the plans and programs that have been built...
