All four students from the 2023 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) team won medals, including one gold, two silver and one bronze.
On September 2, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that Nguyen Ngoc Dang Khoa, an 11th grade student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, won the gold medal.
Two silver medals went to Tran Xuan Bach, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, and Nguyen Duc Thang, grade 11, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted in Phu Tho. Nguyen Quang Minh, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, won the bronze medal.
With this achievement, the Vietnam Informatics Olympic team is in the group of 9 countries and territories with the highest results, after the teams of China, the US, Japan, Korea, Israel...

The 35th International Olympiad in 2023 will be held from August 28 to September 4 in Szeged, Hungary, with 351 contestants from 89 countries and territories.
The exam has two official days. On each day, candidates program on a computer for 5 hours and solve 3 problems.
According to the organizers, 178 contestants won medals, including 30 gold, 58 silver and 90 bronze medals, accounting for 50.7% of the total number of contestants. 40 others were awarded certificates of merit.
The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that this year's exam was more difficult than previous years and had some strange types of problems, requiring candidates to be able to apply knowledge flexibly and be highly creative.
Last year, the Vietnamese team competed online and won one gold medal and three silver medals. The gold medalist was Tran Xuan Bach, then an 11th grader at the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences.
