Tuition fees at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry increased by 25% for some majors

Tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry increased by 13-25% compared to the previous school year.

According to a newly issued announcement, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has sharply increased tuition fees for the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year compared to the previous school year.

In the announcement, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry stated that tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year will increase by 13% for majors in group I (educational sciences and teacher training); III (business and management, law); IV (life sciences, natural sciences); V (mathematics and statistics, computers and information technology, engineering technology, engineering, production and processing, architecture and construction, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, veterinary medicine).

For 6 majors in group VII (including land management, English language, resource and environmental management, landscape and garden engineering, resources and ecotourism, economics), the tuition fee increase this school year is 25% compared to the previous school year.

The basis for determining tuition fees is Point b, Clause 3, Article 1 of Decree 97/2023 of the Government (amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption, reduction, support for learning costs; service prices in the field of education and training). Specifically, the regulation on tuition fee ceilings for public universities that have not yet covered their regular expenses from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2026-2027 school year.

Tuition fees for semester 1, school year 2024-2025 for all majors are as follows:

For the advanced program, the tuition fee for the 2024-2025 school year for the food technology major is 19-22 million VND/semester; the veterinary major is 19.5 million VND/semester. In the previous school year, the tuition fee for this program for the information technology major was 34-40 million VND/year (2 semesters) and the veterinary major was 37 million VND/year (2 semesters).

Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry also noted that tuition fees for courses from 2021 onwards will be collected according to the academic year, and from 2022 onwards, they will be collected according to credits. The graduation thesis subject in food technology will be charged 22 million VND/student. In addition, from the 2024 enrollment period onwards, the national defense education subject will be charged according to the general unit price.
