The Ministry of Health has sent an official dispatch to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities on the implementation of activities to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in group B.
Accordingly, on October 19, 2023, the Ministry of Health issued Decision No. 3896 on adjusting acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus (Covid-19) from group A infectious diseases to group B infectious diseases of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 2007, effective from October 20, 2023.
To unify the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control activities in group B, the Ministry of Health requests ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to direct the implementation of a number of contents.
Accordingly, based on the actual epidemic situation, declare the epidemic and end the epidemic according to the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases; consider strengthening the Steering Committee for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control at all levels in accordance with the developments of the epidemic situation.
Review, abolish or amend issued documents and instructions under authority that are no longer suitable for the situation when Covid-19 changes the classification from group A infectious diseases to group B infectious diseases.

Organize and implement Covid-19 prevention and control activities in group B according to the following regulations and instructions:
Regarding disease surveillance and prevention: Plan for sustainable control and management of the Covid-19 epidemic for the period 2023 - 2025 issued together with Decision No. 3984 dated October 29, 2023 of the Ministry of Health;
Guidelines for monitoring and preventing Covid-19 disease issued together with Decision No. 3985/QD-BYT dated October 29, 2023.
Regarding treatment and infection control at medical examination and treatment facilities: Guidelines for prevention and control of Covid-19 infection at medical examination and treatment facilities issued together with Decision No. 2609 dated June 20, 2023.
Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of Covid-19 issued with Decision No. 2671 dated June 26, 2023 of the Minister of Health.
Guidelines for rehabilitation and self-care for some diseases after Covid-19 infection issued together with Decision No. 1242 of the Minister of Health.
Regarding the guidance on payment of treatment costs for Covid-19 patients, policies for those participating in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic and building demand, ensuring funding for medical examination, treatment and disease surveillance when the Covid-19 epidemic changes from group A infectious disease to group B, follow Official Dispatch No. 6922 dated October 29, 2023 of the Ministry of Health.
At the same time, strengthen communication about risks and epidemic prevention and control measures; encourage the implementation of 2K (Mask - Disinfection) to protect the health of individuals, families and communities, especially at crowded places such as on public transport, at medical examination and treatment facilities...
Regularly update information on the epidemic situation and related policies on Covid-19 prevention and control so that people understand, agree and proactively participate in epidemic prevention and control activities .
