On February 19, with the spirit of urgent, democratic and highly responsible work, the 2nd Conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure completed all contents according to the proposed program. On behalf of the Conference chair, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front delivered the closing speech of the Conference.
Speaking at the Conference, Chairman Do Van Chien respectfully thanked the elders, gentlemen, and comrades who took the time to carefully study the documents, and contributed their enthusiastic, responsible, and profound opinions to the contents that the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front submitted for comments at the Conference. The Standing Committee respectfully accepted the opinions of the Presidium to the fullest extent to complete the documents submitted to the Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Based on the opinions discussed at the Conference, Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized the 4 contents mentioned by the delegates. Regarding the Regulations on the operation of the Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien stated that the Regulations on the operation of the Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee are extremely important documents, stipulating the principles, working regime, powers and responsibilities of the Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee according to the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in order to meet the requirements of strongly innovating the content and methods of operation on a practical basis.
“With rich practical experience, enthusiasm and responsibility, you, the elders, the gentlemen and the comrades have contributed many valuable ideas. The Standing Committee will direct the reception and completion of the Regulations, ensuring that the activities of the Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee are carried out in a synchronous, smooth and effective manner to improve the substance of the Front's work in the coming time,” Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized.
Regarding the full-term working program of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien stated that this is an important guiding document for the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the 2024-2029 term. Many tasks have been added, in parallel with the tasks of a legacy nature and the regular, periodic work of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
"The full-term program is a framework, and the operation process will be adjusted and supplemented to suit the common tasks of the Party and State in each period," Chairman Do Van Chien stated.
Regarding the establishment of Advisory Councils of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, 2024 - 2029, Chairman Do Van Chien informed that the Conference heard reports on the number, structure and composition of the Advisory Councils. The Presidium assigned the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to select and decide on the establishment of Advisory Councils and promulgate the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Advisory Councils and create the most favorable conditions for the Advisory Councils to operate with increasingly high requirements.
Chairman Do Van Chien affirmed that the effective operation of the Advisory Council will help the Vietnam Fatherland Front perform well its functions of supervision and social criticism. This is a difference for the Front to fulfill its mission. In particular, the direct Presidium, often the Standing Committee, will have directions and raise issues of an ordering nature so that the Advisory Councils and experts can give feedback and comments; at the same time, the Standing Committee will research and issue policies suitable for the activities of the Advisory Council.
“The activities of the Advisory Council must be linked to the activities of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, linked to the activities of professional committees and help professional committees carry out their political tasks; linked to the activities of the Standing Committees of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities and linked to the activities of member organizations,” Chairman Do Van Chien suggested.
Emphasizing that the members of the Advisory Council are all experienced, dedicated, objective and honest people, Chairman Do Van Chien said that if these strengths can be combined and exploited, the Advisory Council and the Vietnam Fatherland Front will fulfill their assigned political tasks.
To promote the strengths of the Advisory Council, Chairman Do Van Chien suggested the content of a number of topics for the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to order, thereby promoting the strengths and innovating the activities of the Council in the new term.
Including topics with contents such as: "Political basis, theoretical basis, practical basis, legal basis for building people's supervision law"; "The noble mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new era, striving to build a rich and prosperous country".
Referring to the content of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that it is necessary to clarify the mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in implementing the Resolution and whether or not to launch a campaign for the entire people to advance in science and technology? Because the content of the Resolution is a strong driving force and a breakthrough for the country to transform and enter a new era.
“At the 9th Extraordinary Session, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution supplementing the socio-economic development plan for 2025 with a growth target of 8% or more. With its responsibility, what must the Vietnam Fatherland Front do to help the country achieve the set goals and achieve double-digit growth in the coming time?” Chairman Do Van Chien shared and suggested a number of topics such as “The Vietnam Fatherland Front contributes to the documents of the 14th National Party Congress” or the topic “The Vietnam Fatherland Front implements the strategy of great national unity in the era of striving to build a rich and prosperous country”…
In that spirit, Chairman Do Van Chien proposed that in the second quarter of 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will organize a Workshop with the participation of the Standing Committee and leaders of the Advisory Councils to discuss and develop methods with the hope that the Advisory Council will have practical contributions to the content of these topics.
Emphasizing that the 2nd Conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was a great success, Chairman Do Van Chien respectfully requested that all seniors, ladies and gentlemen, and comrades promote the spirit of solidarity, consensus, enthusiasm and intelligence as the core, spreading the results of the Conference to successfully organize the 3rd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, held on February 20.
