Basic completion of Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal construction before December 2025

This information was given by Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV in the report on the implementation status of Component Project 3, Long Thanh International Airport Project Phase 1 sent to the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector on November 5.

Accordingly, the Vietur contractor consortium is currently mobilizing nearly 2,400 personnel and more than 1,500 construction equipment and machinery in 3 shifts and 4 crews.

As of early November 2024, the Vietur contractor consortium has completed the entire reinforced concrete column and beam section of the first floor (114,060/114,060 m2); the second floor (96,173/96,173 m2); the third floor (73,212/73,212 m2); the third floor (25,150/24,150 m2).

The Vietur contractor consortium is focusing on the processing and installation of steel roof structures according to the plan and contract progress (processing, manufacturing and painting of the main steel frame structure of 11,420 tons/27,240 tons, reaching 40.44%); at the same time, continuing to implement the construction of brick walls on the ground floor, 1st and 2nd floors; construction of roof support columns (195/214 completed, reaching 91.1%).

In parallel with the progress of the rough construction, all the work of purchasing and ordering electromechanical equipment, station equipment, conveyor systems, vertical glass walls has been implemented, signed contracts with suppliers and manufacturers and is in the process of manufacturing and processing components... according to the set schedule.

With the above progress, ACV expects to basically complete the construction part before December 2025; in parallel with the completion and installation of test equipment from the beginning of 2026 and strive to complete before August 31, 2026.

“The estimated actual completed volume has reached about VND10,110 billion, equivalent to 40.47% of the contract value (VND33,185 billion), excluding the cost of special equipment being ordered,” ACV leaders informed.

It is known that the passenger terminal project (Package 5.10) has a construction time proposed by the contractor of 39 months.

The passenger terminal takes the lotus image as the main idea and is used throughout the design process, applied to the roof, perspective from the main view of the terminal, interior of the check-in area, arranged in a concentrated form including the central area and 3 wings.

The terminal is designed with two separate arrival and departure levels, including 1 ground floor and 3 upper floors, total floor area of 376,451.32m2, roof height of 45.55m, arranging 40 parking positions for Code C, E, F aircraft.

The passenger terminal is designed and constructed using the most modern technologies in the aviation industry, selecting materials according to trends applied to modern airport terminals in the world, ensuring durability, aesthetics and characteristics of the airport terminal; applying covering materials to ensure energy savings for the terminal and environmental friendliness.
