People's Artist Le Huy Quang was born in 1944 in Thach Ha, Ha Tinh. He graduated from the Intermediate and College of Fine Arts, Hanoi University of Arts, 1966-1973. People's Artist Le Huy Quang graduated from the University of Theater and Cinema in 1982.
People's Artist Le Huy Quang suddenly passed away at the age of 80.
Since 1976, he has worked as a journalist at Stage Magazine and at the same time became an art designer for the Vietnam Tuong Theater. He has been in charge of art design for more than 300 plays for theatrical art units nationwide.
Critic Dang Truong Luu once said about the paintings of artist Le Huy Quang: "Through his paintings... it is enough for us to recognize a unique character, a unique soul of Le Huy Quang, gentle and calm in the face of the open, sometimes excessive noise of today's artistic life."
Besides fine arts, People's Artist Le Huy Quang affirmed his talent in the field of poetry. 108 poems, a collection of his works from 1968-2008, are named Phai Khac. The name expresses his views on life and art.

People's Artist Le Huy Quang's father was a traditional Tuong artist. His mother also followed her husband to join the theater troupes. Continuing the family's tradition of loving art, the three painter brothers Le Huy Quang became famous names in the modern Vietnamese art scene. The eldest brother Le Huy Hoa was an excellent painter of the Resistance Art course trained in the former Viet Bac resistance zone, and was posthumously awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2012.
The youngest brother of People's Artist Le Huy Quang is Le Huy Hanh - a former soldier in the Laos and Central Highlands battlefields. Later, he became a painter, sculptor, and poet of the Da Nang Literature and Arts Association.
