This year's Vietnam Musicians Association Music Awards were presented on the evening of December 15 at the Hai Phong Opera House, causing surprise when the awards were given to artists in showbiz, not just to authors of "academic" music, with little entertainment value like previous years' awards.

This year, for the first time, the Vietnam Musicians Association awards the Sol Gold and Sol Silver prizes to honor music products such as MVs, albums, and live concerts, in addition to traditional awards.

Artist Tran Manh Tuan, although his health has not fully recovered, traveled a long distance to Hai Phong city to receive the award.

Sitting on a chair in the middle of the stage, his voice still difficult, artist Tran Manh Tuan expressed his joy and emotion at the honor given to him.

He especially sent his heartfelt thanks to the organizers, colleagues and beloved audience because it was everyone's love and support that helped him overcome his illness and make him the artist Tran Manh Tuan he is today.

After a year of active work with a series of invested music products, from MVs to live concerts, singer Tung Duong has been recognized by the Vietnam Musicians Association and awarded the Best Singer award.

The Sol Gold and Sol Silver Awards are present for the first time in the awards of the Vietnam Musicians Association this year, awarded in the categories of MV, Album, and Live concert.

In the MV category, the Golden Sol award was given to Nhat bai thien dia by The Flob, directed by Nguyen Minh Quang; the Silver Sol was given to the work Loi dam cua Quyech (Nguyen Tien Duc), directed by Nong Thanh Tuan.

Album category, Golden Sol was awarded to Finger Rivers by author Tran Duc Minh (Hanoi), singer Ha Tran.

The Silver Sol was awarded to the work Museum of Regret by author Vu (Hoang Thai Vo, Hanoi). The Live concert category only awarded the Golden Sol to the live concert Co doi lan by musician Duc Tri.

Nguyen Vinh Tien's song adapted from Luu Quang Vu's poem was awarded the B prize.

In the "traditional" award system, the Vietnam Musicians Association awarded A, B, C and consolation prizes to authors in the following categories: Songs (3 A prizes, 11 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 5 consolation prizes); Children's songs (3 B prizes, 3 C prizes); Art songs (1 C prize); Symphony and Musical (1 B prize - the work Cheo and Len Dong dance by musician Dang Huu Phuc, 1 consolation prize);

Chamber music (solo, quartet, instrumental ensemble) includes 3 B prizes, 3 C prizes, 4 consolation prizes; Choir (3 B prizes, 3 C prizes, 1 consolation prize).

Performance Program category, awarded certificate of merit to the music album "Rolling Moon Night" by artist Thai Bao (Ha Tinh).

In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 2 B prizes in the category of Specialized Books; 1 A prize (for the book Nguyen Dinh Thi with music by author Nguyen Thi Minh Chau) and 1 C prize for Collected and Research Books; 1 C prize and 1 consolation prize for Textbooks; 2 B prizes, 1 consolation prize for journalistic works about music.

The 3 A prizes in the Song category are Light Up Vietnam by author Le Tu Minh (HCMC); Hai Phong in My Heart by author Duy Thai (Hai Phong); Passionate Dream by author Tran Quoc Dat (Army).
