According to the draw results of the U23 Asian group stage, U23 Thailand is in Group C with opponents Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Tajikistan. This is considered a relatively difficult group for U23 Thailand because the level of Saudi Arabia and Iraq is very high.

However, Thailand U23 coach Issara Sritaro still declared his goal of winning the top spot in this group. He even made an appointment to meet Vietnam U23 in the quarter-finals.
Speaking to the press, coach Issara Sritaro said: "Because U23 Thailand is in the third seed group, I am satisfied with this draw result. Group C has many strong opponents but the level of the teams is not too different.
U23 Thailand is not afraid of any opponent. Our goal is to win the top spot in Group C. The two opponents Saudi Arabia and Iraq are very difficult but we believe we can complete this task. U23 Thailand will fight with the highest determination.
If we top the group, U23 Thailand can face U23 Vietnam, Malaysia or Kuwait in the quarter-finals. Then, we will have a great chance to go deep in this tournament."

At the 2022 AFC U23 Championship, Thailand U23 was eliminated from the group stage when facing Vietnam U23, South Korea U23 and Thailand U23. The best achievement of the "War Elephants" was reaching the quarterfinals in the tournament at home in 2020.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship is crucial in determining the 2024 Olympic ticket. The top three teams will go straight to the Olympics. The fourth-placed team will enter the play-off round. Vietnamese fans are hoping that the home team can repeat their runner-up performance at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship.
