At the beginning of the press conference, coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: "After a period of interruption due to Covid-19, the tournaments have returned. However, the U.17 Vietnam players did not have much time to practice together. We have 1 month to prepare. We are very happy that we have won the right to enter the final round as the top team. In this final round, we have to face very strong opponents in the group stage such as India, Japan, Uzbekistan. Hopefully, U.17 Vietnam will play well."
When asked about the goal at the 2023 AFC U17 Championship, the coach from Khanh Hoa shared: "In this year's tournament, we will have 6 tests. Hopefully, U17 Vietnam will complete the first 3 tests in this group. Hopefully, the players will play well to take the next tests and complete this task excellently."

Regarding the opening match against U.17 India tomorrow (June 17), the captain of U.17 Vietnam appeared very cautious: "Tomorrow's match is very important, I respect all teams, including India. For me, there is no pressure at all. The more fans come to the stadium, the more comfortable I feel. Of course, for young players, the psychological development is not an easy story, but I understand my players. I hope that the more fans come, the better U.17 Vietnam will play."
According to the organizers' arrangement, U.17 Vietnam will play all 3 group stage matches at Thammasat Stadium, in 2 time slots of 5pm and 7pm. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team will have their opening match against U.17 India on June 17, then meet U.17 Japan on June 20 and U.17 Uzbekistan on June 23.

At this year's finals, the teams will compete in a single round robin. The first and second teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals will take place on June 25 and 26. The semi-finals will take place on June 29, and the final will take place at 7 p.m. on July 2. The four semi-finalists will qualify for the 2023 U.17 World Cup in October.
