Coach Shin Tae Yong plays big, gives money to Indonesian players

The entire Indonesian U23 team is in Qatar preparing for the AFC U23 Championship (taking place from April 15 to May 3). That forced the team members to celebrate Eid al-Fitr away from their families.

Eid al-Fitr, also known as Bayram or the Feast of the Fast (or Fasting), is an important religious holiday for Muslims, marking the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan. This is an occasion for Muslims to gather with family and friends.

To compensate the members of the U23 Indonesia team, coach Shin Tae Yong played big by giving each member 100 USD (nearly 2.5 million VND). Bola newspaper wrote: "Although the whole team played away from home, everyone felt the warmth of the big U23 Indonesia family.

Coach Shin Tae Yong has distributed subsidies to the players and all staff of the team. Each person received 100 USD, equivalent to 1.5 million IDR".

Assistant coach Jeong Seok Seo posted a "warm moment" of coach Shin Tae Yong on social media. Along with it was the status line: "When coach Shin Tae Yong gives it, I can't take it anymore."

Bola also predicted that coach Shin Tae Yong will eliminate 6 players before finalizing the list of 23 players participating in the U23 Asian tournament. Among them, key players such as Alfeandra Dewangga and Nathan Tjoe-A-On cannot participate due to objective reasons such as injury or the club not releasing the player.

Players Bagas Kaffa, Haykal Alhafiz, Rifky Dwi and Erlangga Setyo are not allowed to participate due to professional reasons.

Recently, U23 Indonesia has completed two friendly matches, losing to Saudi Arabia and winning against UAE. They are urgently preparing for the tournament. In the U23 Asian tournament, U23 Indonesia is in the same group with U23 Qatar, U23 Australia, and U23 Jordan.

Indonesia U23's goal is to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. The top three teams in the U23 Asian Cup will qualify for the tournament in Paris. Meanwhile, the fourth-placed team will enter a play-off with an African representative.
