On the afternoon of June 6, the Vietnamese women's team had their first training session in Frankfurt (Germany). Coach Mai Duc Chung said the training conditions here are suitable for the players to improve their physical strength, ready for their first World Cup participation.

“The food and weather conditions in Germany are very good. Just like when training in Japan, here we have very high-quality matches with the blue team. In addition, the whole team continues to improve their physical strength and tactics. The Vietnamese women's team is preparing many tactics towards the Women's World Cup,” said the head coach of the Vietnamese women's team.

Coach Mai Duc Chung believes the training trip in Germany will help the Vietnamese women's team prepare best for the World Cup.

"Our level is not equal to that of our opponents at the World Cup. This is also our first time participating, so we keep the players' spirits comfortable but there are still professional requirements.

After the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's team will compete in the Asian Games and the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers. That is also the team's goal in 2023. We need to go further.

In the coming years, Vietnamese football needs to gradually improve and achieve better results to meet the requirements of leaders and the expectations of fans," coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized.

Vietnam women's team has first training session in Germany

The first training session of the Vietnamese women's team took place at Sommerdamm Russelsheim Stadium, a 15-minute bus ride from the team's base. The coaching staff had the players practice coordination, team tactics and speed exercises.

“I want our players to coordinate quickly on 2/3 of the field, play tight defense and counterattack quickly. When we win the ball, we must attack quickly on the opponent's field,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.
