Before the away match in Japan, coach Bandovic said that after losing 2-4 to Pohang Steelers on the opening day, Hanoi FC learned many lessons, including improving the connection between foreign and domestic players. In addition, he asked the team to practice high-intensity exercises to face stronger opponents like Urawa Red tomorrow, October 4.

"The pace of play in the V-League is quite slow compared to the J-League," coach Bandovic said at a press conference this afternoon, October 3, at Saitana Stadium. "The players and I are trying to adapt and keep up with that pace."

Coach Bozidar Bandovic held a press conference before the match between Hanoi FC and Urawa Red Diamonds in the AFC Champions League 2023-2024.

However, Bandovic also admitted that he and his players have not had enough time to become fluent, and considered that a challenge for the match against Urawa. He also warned Hanoi's defense to be vigilant because the home team's strikers are very strong and even, not just focused on 33-year-old striker Jose Kante.

In the opening match of the AFC Champions League 2023-2024, Urawa drew 2-2 on the field of Wuhan Three Towns (China). Therefore, they set the goal of defeating Hanoi FC to earn their first victory. In addition to their level, Urawa has much more experience in Asian competitions, having won the AFC Champions League three times in 2007, 2017 and 2022.

Attending the press conference with coach Bandovic, central defender Do Duy Manh aimed to win at least one point. "We have to give 100%, even 200% of our strength and ability in the AFC Champions League," the 27-year-old central defender said. "We have understood the coach's philosophy to gradually adapt and perform our best on the field."
